Lily Turner was cautious all the way. Only when she was sure that no journalists were following her did she relax and enter the elevator. When the elevator reached her floor, she didn't step out; instead, she rode two more floors before getting out.
After leaving the elevator, she returned to her room via the emergency exit.
Having been in this industry for so long, she had gradually become more cautious, sometimes having to play these little tricks.
"You finally came back."
Seeing Lily Turner use the room card to open the door and enter, Freya Yeager, who had been waiting and worrying for a long time, instinctively stood up from the sofa. Once Lily came over, they sat down on the sofa together.
"Freya! I'm sorry to have worried you again." Lily Turner could tell that Freya Yeager was very concerned about her. Although Freya was her manager, over the years, Lily had long regarded her as another sister, and Freya had been exceptionally kind to her, treating her far beyond what a manager should.
To this, Freya Yeager just smiled without saying anything. She leaned over to the coffee table, picked up a bottle of juice, and handed it to Lily Turner. "Have some drink first."
"Freya! What is it you wanted to tell me?" Lily Turner asked, twisting open the drink Freya had handed her. She was indeed a bit thirsty, so after removing the cap, she gulped down several big mouthfuls.
Glancing at the half-empty drink in Lily Turner's hand, a fleeting expression passed through Freya Yeager's eyes, gone too quickly for Lily to notice.
"You've just come back. Let's talk after you catch your breath," Freya Yeager said, pointing to the half-bottle of drink in Lily Turner's hand. "Drink slowly, we can talk once you've finished."
Hearing Freya say this, Lily Turner didn't think too much of it. Not wanting to keep Freya waiting any longer, she quickly unscrewed the cap and finished the rest of the drink.
"Drink slowly, there's no need to rush." Seeing Lily guzzle down the entire bottle without hesitation, Freya's expression turned a bit uneasy, though she remained composed.
Lily Turner tossed the empty drink bottle into the wastebasket next to the coffee table, preparing to listen to what Freya had to say. At this point, she still hadn't noticed anything unusual about Freya.
"Freya! I've finished the drink, can we talk now? What did you want to tell me?" She shifted her position to face Freya sitting next to her directly.
At this moment, Freya Yeager's phone suddenly rang. Her brow furrowed sharply as she pulled her phone from her pocket, glanced at it, and gripped it tightly. "I'll go take this call."
With that, she stood up awkwardly, glanced at Lily who was sitting down, and walked towards the door with her phone. Under Lily's puzzled gaze, she opened the door and left the room.
"Why is it suddenly so hot?"
Lily Turner suddenly felt a wave of heat all over her body, lifting her hand to tug at her collar and waving her other hand over her face, but it didn't help at all.
She got up, walked to the bed, picked up the air conditioning remote from the bedside, and turned on the air conditioning to cool down.
