Lily Turner stood in front of him, and Easton Holmes, who was sitting on the sofa, had to look up at her. This act of looking up gave him a sense of novelty. He leaned back against the sofa, lifting his right leg to cross it, looking as comfortable as could be.
"Military is my main career, business is my secondary," he said, looking up at her as if admiring a fine piece of art.
Easton Holmes' words, whether true or false, Lily Turner had no way to verify, nor did she care to. All she wanted now was to continue with the film, and she would be satisfied.
"Mr. Holmes! Thank you for your generous help. You should take back that apartment; I haven't changed the door code, everything is still as it was." Since he invested so much, it was only right to return the house. She couldn't take both the money and the house, taking advantage was not her style.
"I remember telling you that once I give something, I won't take it back," Easton Holmes paused and then said, "I also told you I invested because I saw the great potential in the film, and for no other reason."
At first, Lily Turner naively thought Easton Holmes invested because of her, to make up for the mistake he made against her, but looking at the situation now, she realized she was overthinking. He was completely interested in the commercial value of the film.
"So you need to hurry up and get well so the film can be completed smoothly, and I can sit back and rake in the money." Lily hadn't come out of her thoughts when Easton spoke again, highlighting his nature as a shrewd businessman.
In the days of knowing Easton Holmes, Lily always thought he was a cold and noble person. Today, she realized she had been misled by his stern appearance. He was an outright shrewd businessman.
"Mr. Holmes! For me to recover soon and return to the set, please leave. I need to rest and recuperate." His recent display of being a shrewd businessman made her feel very uncomfortable, and she again issued a dismissal order. This time, her expression turned unpleasant, and her tone wasn't as friendly.
Easton Holmes had been looking up at Lily Turner and noticed her emotional changes from the start. He stared at her for quite a while before leisurely saying, "Alright! I'll leave now."
With that, he put down his crossed leg and stood up from the sofa quickly.
"Take care!"
Seeing Easton stand up, Lily quickly waved goodbye, looking very eager for him to leave.
"Miss Turner! I came all the way to check on you while you were sick, isn't this a bit too heartless?" Her attitude made him feel uncomfortable. He stopped his movement toward the door, standing still and looking down at her.
Even though Lily was a model, wearing flat shoes next to the tall Easton Holmes, she had a bit of a height difference.
His presence naturally gave her a sense of pressure, and now she felt completely suppressed. She instinctively took two steps back to put some distance between them, and that made her feel somewhat better.
"Thank you for visiting me. Once I'm better, I'll treat you to a meal." Heartless? How was she heartless? This man was really something; she didn't even know what to say.
