Ever since learning that Lily Turner was hospitalized due to illness, Alice Turner took leave from the company, spending all twenty-four hours each day in Lily Turner's hospital room, just to better care for the ailing Lily Turner.
With Alice Turner's company, Lily Turner's mood improved significantly compared to before. Nowadays, she eats well and sleeps well. The only thing that troubled her was that her biological mother, Sophia Wood, hadn't even shown her face, while Henry Thompson's father had come to visit her in the hospital. However, having been through this situation many times, she was starting to get used to it.
A few days later, under Alice Turner's careful care, Lily Turner's body had fully recovered to its previous healthy state. On the day she was discharged, Luke Crowe suddenly appeared at the door of her hospital room.
"What are you doing here?"
The sudden appearance of Luke Crowe not only surprised Lily Turner but also shocked Alice Turner, who, like Lily, looked at Luke Crowe with confusion and astonishment.
When Easton Holmes and Luke Crowe came to visit Lily Turner at the hospital that day, Freya Yeager happened to be out and was unaware of who had suddenly appeared at the door. However, seeing the surprised reactions of the Turner sisters, she thought this person must be extraordinary.
"The boss asked me to pick you up for discharge."
Seeing the surprised looks of the Turner sisters, Luke Crowe suddenly remembered his own shock when he first received this task. His reaction wasn't much different from the two sisters' reaction.
Upon hearing this, the unknowing Freya Yeager exclaimed, "The boss?!"
The term "the boss" sounded like a gangster to her.
"He calls their boss the boss."
What exactly Easton Holmes did, Lily Turner wasn't particularly clear in her heart. This wasn't the time to inquire about this issue either.
Freya Yeager didn't know much about these things and did not question Lily Turner's words. She wanted to ask who Luke Crowe's boss was, but due to the previous incident with the spiked drink, her relationship with Lily Turner had not yet returned to its previous state.
Not wanting to further deteriorate their relationship, she refrained from asking further questions.
"My sister is here, so there is no need to trouble you."
Lily Turner had already discussed with Alice Turner last night that today the sisters would go to her private apartment together. They planned to spend the day relaxing and enjoying at home, and the next day return to their respective jobs, as such leisurely moments would be hard to come by once they got busy.
Luke Crowe's task was to take Lily Turner to Scenic Garden Apartments, where Easton Holmes was already waiting. The task assigned by the boss was one he had to complete without fail, so he dared not slack off.
"Miss Turner! Can I have a word with you alone?"
When Luke Crowe asked for Lily Turner's opinion, he casually glanced at Alice Turner and Freya Yeager, who were standing beside her. Alice Turner and Freya Yeager were not naive and had seen the world.
"Lily! I'll wait for you outside."
Alice Turner was the first to step out of the hospital room, and Freya Yeager followed, "I'll wait for you outside too."
Seeing the two women tactfully leave the room, Luke Crowe seized the opportunity and immediately spoke up, "Miss Turner! Our boss has something to discuss with you."
That's what his leader said when assigning the task, without mentioning any specifics of the discussion.
"What does he want to discuss with me? Can't it wait until another day?"
Lily Turner's reluctance to meet with Easton Holmes was very evident, but her refusal was immediately denied by Luke Crowe, who shook his head firmly, "No."
