Lily Turner had always been aware of Easton Holmes’s domineering and strong-willed nature, and she constantly experienced it firsthand. She was starting to get somewhat used to it now.
Faced with his domineering attitude, she no longer got as angry or upset as she used to. Sometimes, she even found herself feeling quite happy.
She really suspected that she had been ’poisoned’ by him!
"You get to decide!"
She raised her hand and poked his forehead. Before he could speak, she suddenly put on a serious face and asked, "What were you talking about with Uncle downstairs just now?"
Due to the limited lighting, she couldn’t see clearly, but she just felt like they were discussing something.
"I told Uncle that we didn’t really enjoy our meal, and he said he would take us out for dinner another day." Easton responded without a second thought, effortlessly lying as if it were second nature; you couldn’t tell he was lying at all.
Lily felt as if Easton was joking with her, but looking at his expression, he seemed completely serious. She stared at him for a long time without coming to any conclusion.
"I won’t go another day. If you want to go, you can go with Uncle by yourself." Regardless of whether it was true or not, she wouldn’t go again. Tonight’s dinner had been so awkward.
"The person Uncle most wants to invite is you. If you don’t go, there’s no point in me going." Easton raised his hand and pinched Lily’s cheek, quickly letting go before she could react, then strode toward the bathroom.
Sure enough, as soon as he reached the bathroom door, her angry voice called out from behind, "Easton Holmes! You’re so annoying."
As Lily shouted and prepared to chase him, Easton had already entered the bathroom. As he was closing the bathroom door, he turned back, smiled, and waved at her.
At that moment, the smile on his face looked insufferably smug in her eyes, and she angrily waved her fist at him from afar.
Easton pretended not to see Lily’s distant swing of her fist toward him, closed the bathroom door, and soon the sound of running water came from inside.
Hearing the sound of running water in the bathroom, Lily stopped sulking in place, turned, and walked toward the big bed. Once there, she immediately kicked off her slippers and climbed onto the bed.
Whether because of pregnancy or not having rested well last night, she fell asleep shortly after lying down.
She slept very soundly. When Easton finished showering and came out of the bathroom, she didn’t hear a thing and continued to be lost in deep sleep.
Seeing no movement from the person on the bed, Easton tiptoed over. Only when he got closer did he realize she was really asleep; earlier, he thought she was pretending.
He originally intended to give her a scare, but seeing that she was truly asleep, his movements became even gentler.
He dried his wet hair with a towel as he walked towards the door.
Turning off the light in the room, he opened the door and stepped out. After leaving the room, he headed directly to the study next door.
Upon entering the study, Easton took out his phone from his pajama pocket and looked up Amelia Linton’s number in his contacts.
He stared at the number for a moment before dialing it, placing the towel on the desk as he waited for the call to be answered.
"Hello! Son!"
After a few rings, Amelia Linton picked up the phone. The moment she answered, she excitedly shouted "Son!"
