Lily Turner appeared to be very angry on the surface, but she wasn’t angry at all.
She was glaring and shouting loudly, but in fact, she just wanted to overpower Easton Holmes with her momentum and remind him of her special situation.
Easton Holmes had been with her day and night for so long; how could he not see through her little schemes? He wasn’t planning to tease her anymore because he worried that if he didn’t stop, he would lose control.
"Alright! I won’t tease you anymore, go to sleep."
He said as he withdrew his hand from her clothes and pinched her cheek with it, "Your worries are unnecessary. If I really wanted to do something to you, do you think your chicken-feet-like hands could stop me?"
As he spoke, he held her hand and, after speaking, lifted it to his mouth and bit it lightly.
"Easton Holmes! Are you really treating my hand like chicken feet?" Lily Turner pulled back her hand and held it up to her eyes to examine it carefully.
How did her hand look like chicken feet? Her hand was much nicer than chicken feet, okay?
No! How could her hand even be compared to chicken feet?
Thinking of this, she angrily glared at the man who said her hand was like chicken feet, "From now on, we are no longer friends!"
After saying this, she huffed at the man and turned her back to him in bed.
"Wife! Are we no longer friends again?"
This wasn’t the first time Lily Turner had angrily told Easton Holmes that they were no longer friends, but he wasn’t upset at all because he knew she just said it casually. It wasn’t even an angry remark, let alone a serious one.
He sat up and looked over at her, seeing her eyes wide open, seemingly lost in thought. He leaned down close to her ear and whispered, "Are you not sleepy with your eyes open? Shall we do something else?"
He mischievously blew warm air into her ear, but that was all; he didn’t make any other unnecessary moves.
Easton Holmes was already making Lily Turner nervous, not to mention him continuously blowing hot air into her ear. She raised her hand and pushed away his mischief in her ear. "Who says I’m not sleepy? I’m about to fall asleep. If it weren’t for you, I’d be in dreamland by now."
Worried that he might actually do something to her if he couldn’t control himself, she immediately closed her eyes, planning to pretend to sleep first.
"Seeing how sleepy you are, I’ll let you off tonight then." Seeing Lily Turner close her eyes, Easton Holmes sighed in relief. Whether she was truly asleep or pretending to be, he could finally relax his tense nerves.
He lay down behind her and withdrew his arm from under her neck, then turned around to turn off the lit bedside lamp.
The room, which had been lit just a moment ago, suddenly became dim.
Lily Turner opened her eyes, and the darkness was so intense that she couldn’t see anything.
She wanted to turn around to look at Easton Holmes; since the moment he returned from the phone call, she felt something was off about him.
She wanted to ask him something, but he kept deliberately preventing her from doing so. He was working so hard to stop her just because he didn’t want her to ask more questions.
"Easton Holmes! I feel that we shouldn’t be in this kind of state." This state made her feel there was a sense of unfamiliarity and some distance between them.
Although Lily Turner had no experience in this regard since they were newlyweds, she felt there was something wrong with them being like this.
He had things he wasn’t telling her, and she was also hiding many things from him. They were supposed to be the closest of husband and wife relationships, without any secrets, right?
