The sudden vibration of the phone interrupted Easton Holmes’s uncontrollable desire, and his rationality slowly returned at that moment.
In regaining his senses, he felt immense regret. If the phone hadn’t suddenly rung, he dared not imagine what could have happened next; the consequences would have been severe.
He quickly released the woman in his arms, lay down to the side, and distanced himself from her.
"We’d better keep some distance for now," he said, even though he didn’t want it this way. But for her and the child’s safety, he had to endure this torment.
"Then I’ll go sleep in the guest room."
Hearing Easton Holmes say they should keep their distance, Lily Turner immediately suggested she sleep in the guest room. She felt it was the only safe option since he had been restraining himself for two months, and she wasn’t oblivious to it.

Thinking this, Lily Turner had already sat up, intending to retreat to the guest room.
"Just sleep here. If anyone should leave, it’s me going to the guest room." Easton Holmes reached out and stopped Lily Turner, who was ready to leave for the guest room, pulling her back into bed. After he pulled her back, he got up from the bed himself. "I’ll step out to take a call; you go to sleep first."
The phone in his pocket buzzed incessantly, as if urging him relentlessly.
Easton Holmes told Lily Turner he needed to take a call and left the room. Only when he was away from the doorway did he retrieve the phone from his pocket.
As expected, the call was from his uncle.
"Hello!"
"You need to get to the city hospital immediately. Your mom is there right now."
As soon as Michael Linton finished speaking, Easton Holmes’s hand unconsciously gripped the phone tighter, and his face instantly turned grim.
Perhaps due to impatience, not hearing any response for a moment, Michael Linton spoke again on the phone anxiously, "Easton! Are you listening to me?"
Concerned his voice might not be loud enough, he raised his voice.

Seeing that Easton Holmes had responded, Michael Linton felt relieved, "I’m heading there first, and you should come quickly too."
When Michael Linton went to the Holmes Residence earlier to check the situation, he only found Theodore Holmes there. From him, he learned that Fabian Holmes and Amelia Linton were not home but at the city hospital.
Worried about his sister, Amelia Linton, he didn’t ask much more. Instead, he quickly left the Holmes Residence and drove straight to the city hospital.
On the way to the hospital, he thought it over and decided he had to inform Easton Holmes. He had promised to call his nephew if anything happened when he left.
Before Easton Holmes could respond, Michael Linton hung up the phone, tossing it onto the passenger seat afterward.
He stepped on the gas, and the car shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.
While Michael Linton was speeding towards the hospital, Theodore Holmes called Fabian Holmes to inform him of the situation at home.
Upon learning that Michael Linton had gone to their home and was now heading to the hospital, Fabian Holmes felt awful.
That’s when he suddenly realized that his brother-in-law had so abruptly ended the call earlier because he was in a rush to check on the situation at his home.
He never imagined that his brother-in-law would be so difficult to handle.
