When Alice Turner came over carrying a glass of water and a glass of drink, she saw that Easton Holmes was already there. She wasn’t sure if she should approach or not.
"Sis!"
Just as Alice was unsure what to do, Lily Turner suddenly saw her and called out to her.
"Weren’t you thirsty? Here’s your water!"
Alice raised the glass of warm water she was holding. Seeing Easton let go of Lily, she walked over with the cup.
She had thought Easton would take a while to come over, but unexpectedly he arrived as soon as the two sisters got here. His fast pace surprised her, yet she felt quite pleased, as it showed he really cared about her sister.
Lily didn’t even glance at Easton. She turned to face Alice, took the water glass from her sister, and under their watchful eyes, she gulped it down.
"Cough!"
Maybe she drank too fast, or perhaps she was distracted.
In any case, Lily choked on the water and started coughing, her cheeks turning a rosy red from the effort.
Seeing this, Alice instinctively reached out to pat Lily’s back, but Easton beat her to it, patting Lily’s back.
"Drink slowly, no one’s fighting you for it."
Seeing her struggle with the cough, he felt uncomfortable too. As he helped pat her back, he couldn’t help but scold her a little.
"I cough... because I want to!"
Lily glared at the man who chastised her, then moved aside with the water glass, avoiding his touch.
Alice looked at Easton, then at Lily. She felt it would be best to give them some space to talk.
"You two take your time, I’m heading to the study to deal with some paperwork." Without waiting for a response, she quickly headed to the study with her drink. Soon, she was inside the study.
"Let’s go over there and have a proper talk."
Seeing Alice retreat to the study, Easton pulled Lily into the living room. He needed to resolve this matter soon, or else she might really refuse to have the wedding with him tomorrow.
Lily instinctively tried to pull away, but no matter how much she struggled, she couldn’t free her hand from his grasp, "I have nothing to talk about with you."
She turned her head away, deliberately avoiding looking at the man beside her.
"But I have a lot to discuss with you."
Easton pulled Lily down onto the sofa. To prevent her from struggling, he directly held her on his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around her so she had no room to struggle.
This annoying man! Always using his strength to control her.
Lily wanted to push Easton away, but her hands were already pinned by him. Her entire body was locked in his embrace, unable to move.
"Easton Holmes! You always bully me! I hate you, I really hate you." She lowered her head and bit down on his shoulder’s clothing. She aimed for his shoulder, but since it was winter and he wore thick clothes, she only bit the fabric.
Not managing to bite his shoulder, Lily angrily gritted her teeth, making an audible grinding sound.
"Can’t bite my shoulder? You can bite my neck." Easton offered, tilting his neck closer to Lily’s mouth, inviting her to vent her anger by biting his neck.
However, he didn’t anticipate her rejection, a very thorough one at that, "I’m not a vampire, and even if I were, I wouldn’t suck your blood."
