Benjamin Shaw’s goal had been achieved; Isla Lane was truly infuriated by him. However, at this moment, she couldn’t just shout at him over the phone.
She took several deep breaths to calm herself down quickly, then lowered her voice and said to her son on the other end of the line, "Go ahead and act out, someday you’ll regret it."
He brought home a treasure of a wife but doesn’t know how to cherish her. She was truly worried for her son.
"I’m afraid the ones who will regret it in the future are you all."
If they knew how disreputable that woman’s life was, they would surely regret forcing him to marry her.
Benjamin Shaw was very aware of what Isla Lane’s words meant, but he didn’t think he was acting out; he was saving himself.
Hearing Benjamin Shaw talk back to her like that, Isla Lane was so angry she almost fainted. If she hadn’t been trying so hard to control herself, she might have already slammed the phone down.
"I hope you remember what you’ve said today."
She bit her teeth in anger and hung up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Isla Lane didn’t return immediately but slowly placed the phone into her handbag, trying to ease her angry emotions.
After putting the phone in her bag, her mood improved. Taking a deep breath, she took her bag and walked towards the three people.
"Where exactly is Thomas now?"
Just as Isla Lane walked over, Thomas Fisher asked her. He also wanted to know where Benjamin Shaw was. Most of all, he wanted to know why Benjamin hadn’t gone to their elder brother’s house in the afternoon when both he and his second brother had gone.
Benjamin Shaw hadn’t mentioned his whereabouts, and Isla Lane couldn’t possibly guess. She couldn’t just make up a place; if it turned out different from what he said, what would her daughter-in-law think?
The daughter-in-law would surely suspect that she and her son had conspired to deceive her. She couldn’t let that happen.
Her son didn’t cherish this precious daughter-in-law now, so she had to guard her for him. In case one day he suddenly realized her worth, she could hand his wife over then.
"He didn’t tell me, just said he was busy."
This answer couldn’t be wrong; she wasn’t lying.
"Hmph!"
As soon as Isla Lane finished speaking, Alexander Shaw snorted coldly at her, looking even more displeased than before.
His snort made her lose face a bit, and she immediately expressed her dissatisfaction, "What are you snorting at!"

She kept these thoughts to herself, not speaking them out loud.
It wasn’t because she was afraid to say them, but she felt it was inappropriate given the setting. Her daughter-in-law was right there, and she wanted to save some face for him as her father-in-law.
Thomas Fisher initially thought he could find out where Benjamin Shaw was, but to his surprise, he not only didn’t get an answer but also made the atmosphere awkward. He regretted asking the question.
Alice Turner glanced at Alexander Shaw, then at Isla Lane. She didn’t want to manage other people’s affairs, but thinking of how nice her in-laws had been to her these days, she softened.
"Dad! Mom! Let’s head up. My parents have been waiting upstairs for a long time," Alice Turner said as she walked toward Isla Lane. She reached out to support Isla and started walking upstairs.
As she passed by Thomas Fisher, she signaled him with her eyes, silently indicating that he should bring Alexander Shaw along.
He immediately understood her meaning and, taking big steps, walked towards Alexander Shaw, "Uncle Shaw! Let’s go up."
