"Charlotte!"
Seeing Alice Turner and Charlotte Shaw walk in together, Lily Turner politely greeted them.
Following the sound, Charlotte Shaw saw Lily Turner sitting on a chair. At this moment, Lily’s bridal makeup was almost done, just needing some delicate finishing touches.
"Lily! You look beautiful today."
Seeing the stunning Lily Turner, Charlotte Shaw sincerely complimented her.
"Let me take a look at my dear Lily too."
Alice Turner walked over and took a close look at Lily. She had always said her sister would look even more stunning with makeup on. But instead of praising her sister, she gave a thumbs up to Hazel Jackson, "Hazel! Your skills are amazing, making my sister look so beautiful."
She genuinely praised her, not just trying to flatter her.
"It’s not my skill; mainly, it’s because Lily is already so beautiful." Hazel Jackson’s words were a bit modest. Her makeup skills were top-notch in the industry, but she was a low-key person who preferred not to flaunt.
Lily Turner glanced at Hazel Jackson in the mirror and smiled, "Hazel, no need to be so modest with my sister. Just take her compliments, and besides, my sister is just speaking the truth."
Others may not know, but she knew well, as they had been working together for years.
"Hmm! My sister is right; I was just speaking the truth," Alice Turner chimed in with Lily Turner, showering Hazel Jackson with compliments.
Seeing this, Charlotte Shaw chimed in, "The bond between you two sisters is truly wonderful. I wish I had a sister like that too, but my parents only gave me a brother."
She had always wanted a sister, but that was beyond her control. Having no sister her entire life, she felt her life was somewhat incomplete.
"You envy their sisterly bond too? I feel the same; their bond is so wonderful. I’ve been envious for quite a while," Hazel Jackson echoed empathically at Charlotte Shaw’s envious expression, "At least you have a brother. I’m an only child, not even as fortunate as you."
As an only child, she felt a lot of loneliness. From childhood, she always wished for a companion to play with, but that hope was never fulfilled.
"Hearing you say that, I guess I’m not the most pitiful one," Charlotte Shaw sighed deeply, "Alas! We poor souls."
Had it not been for the fear of messing up the makeup, she would’ve rushed over to hug her.
Seeing this situation, Alice Turner couldn’t hold back any longer, "Sis! What you said is really heartbreaking. Aren’t I your sister?"
As she spoke, she walked over to her sister-in-law, "Do you look down on me as your sister?"
Her last sentence was just a joke, with no intent of accusing her.
"How could I look down on you? What you said hurt my feelings more." Charlotte Shaw placed a hand on Alice Turner’s shoulder and tilted her head to look at her, "I’ve always treated you like my own sister for the past six months, and I’m not just saying that."
Although they were sister-in-law and sister-in-law, they had none of that typical tension; their relationship was great from the very start.
