Thomas Fisher immediately followed, opening his mouth to express some dissatisfaction towards Ryan Taylor’s back. But when he glanced at the guests around them, he quietly closed his just-opened mouth again.
Ryan Taylor heard footsteps behind him and knew without looking that Thomas had caught up. He didn’t even turn his head and continued striding into the living room.
At this time, many people were sitting in the living room, mostly from the military district, including Callix Linton’s former subordinates and Easton Holmes’s comrades. Family and friends were also scattered among them.
After Ryan entered, he quickly started chatting with a few familiar comrades, while Thomas was somewhat dumbfounded. He didn’t recognize anyone and just felt like a sea of green uniforms surrounded him.
Taking a glance at the soldiers and veterans in the living room, Thomas turned around and walked out again. From a distance, he saw Evelyn Taylor standing by the window.
Evelyn was standing with her back to him, so he couldn’t see her expression or tell whether she was happy or angry.
The man she loves is about to marry another woman; she must be very sad.
Thinking of Evelyn’s sadness, Thomas didn’t hesitate. He stepped towards her by the window, intending to comfort the heartbroken her.
When he walked over, Thomas found that Evelyn was staring blankly out the window. Though he could only see one side of her face, he could tell she wasn’t happy.
To lighten the mood, he instantly got playful, "Hey girl! What are you looking at? Big brother will watch with you."
As he spoke, he waved a hand in front of her, hoping to divert her attention.
A shadow suddenly flickered by, and Evelyn blinked sharply. She turned her head toward the sound and saw it was Thomas. She greeted him, "Tommy! You’re here."
After greeting him, she quickly turned her head back.
"What’s wrong? Do I, your brother Tom, look so bad right now that I can’t even compete with a piece of glass?" Thomas realized Evelyn’s mood was even lower than he expected. He had never seen her like this, indicating this incident had deeply affected her.
If it were any other time, Evelyn would have immediately turned her head and said something, but today her mood was terrible. She merely glanced at Thomas, then silently turned her head back.
This girl! Something’s definitely not right today.
Thomas Fisher couldn’t just leave it at that. He tugged on Evelyn’s sleeve, "It’s too stuffy here. Come out with your brother for some air."
After he spoke, seeing she had no reaction, he directly grabbed her arm and began to pull her towards the door.
"Tommy! Let go of me, I can walk myself."
Perhaps a bit anxious, Thomas didn’t control his grip, hurting her. Evelyn cried out for him to let her go.
Unaware of this, Thomas thought Evelyn was making excuses not to go with him and was determined not to let her have her way. He continued to pull her arm, dragging her outside.
"Tommy! You’re hurting my hand."
Seeing that Thomas still held her tightly, Evelyn had to shout directly at him.
To Thomas, it sounded just like another excuse, so he didn’t loosen his grip but did ease some of the pressure, "Your brother doesn’t have that much strength, I won’t hurt you."
