Rael flicked the Violet String, sending out a fierce, fiery note.
Just as it was about to make contact, the Undead Guardian raised its hand and threw a punch.
To Rael’s surprise, the air distorted, making him lose control of his note as it dissipated into the air.
His brows furrowed as he attempted the attack over and over again, yet he was always met with the same result.
Okay. I can confidently say this motherfucker knows how to counter me. Awesome, Rael grumbled as he switched to other tactics.

A storm appeared right in the middle of where the Undead Guardian stood, but as if it didn’t matter in the slightest, it clapped its hands.
The clap seemed silent at first, yet it completely halted his storm. The storm took on a lightning element as it crackled all around, sending arcs of lightning everywhere.
And to Rael’s surprise…
The storm suddenly appeared on top of Rael instead.

The damage was much higher than he was expecting, but at least there was one upside to it.
At least it’s rich, Rael thought as he used his full force to step away as far as he could.
He left the storm and watched as it shot out crystals. However, because of his foresight and his immense speed, he dodged them easily.
And only now did he realize one crucial factor.
Aside from his Mind Damage skills, he had nothing left to use to damage it.
Hollow Waltz was nice, but he felt like he needed a more simple and straightforward skill.
Just as he was about to open the Premium Shop, the Undead Guardian appeared in front of him.
It threw a fist at an incredibly fast speed, but Rael just barely managed to dodge it.

He reappeared behind the Undead Guardian, and thrust his rapier straight into its heart.
To his surprise, it penetrated, but the damage was pitiful.

Not even a critical hit… This undead is too sturdy for its own good, Rael thought as he stepped backward, avoiding another hit, then another.
[You’re in a bit of a stalemate, aren’t you?] Burger mused. [That’s what happens when you have cool-sounding skills that take up half of your status screen. Just get something simple as you thought. A Fireball skill, maybe something with Frost?]

They didn’t look that great until his gaze landed on one skill in particular.
It was Blood Blade, and it had one special effect which made him buy it without hesitation.
And of course, the moment he bought it, he went ahead and maxed it out.
Rael ducked under the Undead Guardian’s fist and sent a kick to its jaw.

It didn’t do much damage aside from momentarily stopping it, but it gave Rael time to reposition and inspect the skill.

Cost: 50,000 MTP → 5,000,000 MTP
It was a simple skill, but its effects were insane.
0.5% of his MAX HP was around 1 billion. That meant if he used it and hit 10 monsters in a crowd, he’d instantly recover 5% of his HP.
This is overpowered… Rael thought with a smirk.
It would scale well as his HP increased, and in this case, it was a simple cat-and-mouse game.
Rael raised his hand and activated the skill a couple of times.

Immediately, 20 Blood Blades appeared all around him, and without a moment to spare, headed straight for the Undead Guardian.
Its skeleton brow twitched as it jumped up into the sky.
A pair of blue wings shot out from its back, and with a flap, it barreled toward Rael.
It dodged a few of his Blood Blades, but many still managed to connect.

No critical hit, and the damage was already in the billions thanks to his Spell Power.
But the healing was even more satisfying.

With this, he now had a way to win the fight.
Though… His HP barely moved an inch… Rael thought with a frown.
That meant he’d need to keep dodging and wear it down with his skills.
How long that would take? He had no clue.
It became faster after summoning its wings, and had Rael been a little slower, he’d be dead.
But at least for the moment, everything was going fine.
