Hordes of gold shot out like shrapnel, crashing against Rael. Some even lodged into the ceiling.
This stupid dragon went ahead and basically shotgunned his fucking fire breath everywhere.
Even so, the damage from the gold bars wasn’t that serious.

Just in time for the smoke to clear and reveal Mercurius.
His face was dark from the smoke left behind by the explosion, and his hands were trembling in anger.
“Human…” Mercurius muttered, his tone growing cold. “How dare you bring in pollen into my dungeo—AAAAACHOOOOOOOO!”
Another pile of gold was sent flying.
Yet as it traveled past Rael, he suddenly noticed a pop-up which made his eyes widen.
He didn’t manage to sell it in time as it hit the wall behind him and shattered. However, he had just realized one crucial part of this encounter.
There was a heap of gold in the center of the boss room where Mercurius was constantly sneezing, letting out explosions.
And if he were to sell all of that gold at 25,000 Trell per, then…
Rael went ahead and struck his Violet String a few times, sending notes straight for Mercurius.
Since he was too preoccupied with sneezing and dispersing all the pollen in the boss room, he couldn’t block the slices, which managed to only graze his outer shell.

Then he sent a glare toward Rael, and it was by far the most malice he had sent Rael’s way.
“You…” Mercurius mumbled, clenching his fists. “You erased my cooking skill! Die!”
He kicked off the ground with his tail and arrived in front of Rael.
Blue fire swirled around his hand as he halted, then slammed his fist down.
Surprisingly, the ground didn’t break. Instead, the shockwave of that attack caused Rael to momentarily lose his footing.
But just as Mercurius was about to follow up with an attack, Rael used his usual combo.

For a few moments, he managed to stop Mercurius, and of course, he soon dashed past him and arrived on top of the giant pile of gold.
He crouched down and placed his hand against it.
And in the very next moment, his eyes widened.
His trembling fingers hovered over the buttons. In the next moment, the pile of gold under his feet vanished, replaced with a single satisfying pop-up.
“Hah…” Rael let out a laugh of disbelief, then glanced at his MTP.

He couldn’t admire it for long as Mercurius finally snapped out of it and sent a fireball Rael’s way.
Rael tried to dodge it with Hollow Waltz, but the flame was too hot, causing a small portion of his skin to melt.

He winced at the uncomfortable pain as he dashed backward and prepared to cast his Blood Blades.
Yet when his gaze landed on the dragon, he saw Mercurius standing there with a giant claymore raised in the air, holding it up with one hand.
Blue flames surrounded it like a tornado, and after a few short moments, they vanished, as if all their power had been infused into the claymore.
Rael stared at it warily as he sent out a bunch of his notes at Mercurius.
As they were about to land, they seemingly melted as the air began to distort.
And finally, Mercurius gently tilted the sword’s tip in Rael’s direction.
Nothing happened at first, but Rael’s one-second foresight alerted him of an extremely powerful attack from ahead.
With that in mind, he moved aside.
Or at least he tried, but no matter how far he moved, that attack seemed like it was going to hit him.
In that split moment, Rael checked out his choices.
The undodgeable slash heading for him vanished, and what replaced it was Mercurius’s furious expression.
“I see…” Mercurius mumbled. “There’s no need to gauge your intentions if you treat our fight this dishonorably.”
His blue flames flickered as they were much weaker than before.
As for the claymore, it turned to dust as it slowly fell to the ground and was soon crushed under Mercurius’s foot.
“I had intended to finish you off and return to cooking, however…”
A deep frown appeared on Mercurius’s face as his tail suddenly got longer.
His body grew in size rapidly, and in just a few moments, his humanoid form was gone, replaced by a giant blue dragon looking down at Rael with malice.
“You’ve spoiled my appetite, human.”
Rael’s brows twitched as he inspected the dragon.
