Rael was momentarily frozen by her serene voice but soon got back on track and shook his head.
“It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it. I’m kind of glad there’s someone who made this place livelier,” Rael replied with a chuckle. “You’re Gaia, aren’t you?”
The woman’s smile widened. “I go by many names, but yes, Gaia is one of them.”
She glanced over at the sky and let out a sigh. “I guess if I’m inside your Mind Realm, I’m dead, aren’t I?”

Gaia’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. She began slowly making her way toward him, and when she arrived, he realized she was only a single forehead shorter than him. It was surprising because he was easily over two meters tall by now.
“Do you mind if I crash here for a while?” Gaia asked out of nowhere. “You see, I don’t really have a place to stay while I’m dead. I don’t want to go back to the cycle of reincarnation, since Hades is not exactly very fond of me… He might reincarnate me as an immortal pigeon and lock me away in some far corner of the universe.”
Before Rael could reply, she raised her hand and tapped the air. In an instant, a few pop-ups appeared in front of him, immediately halting whatever thought process he had a moment ago.
She seemed slightly exhausted after giving him the rewards, but she still flashed a warm smile.
“I’m not a freeloader. This is just one of the many things I plan to give you, so consider this rent money… But that’s only if you let me stay here. N-Not that I’m forcing you or anything, you can refuse.”
Rael remained speechless and decided to first check out the Laws she had given him, starting with the Law of Earth.
1. While in contact with natural terrain, you take 20% less damage.
2. You may convert melee or movement skills into the [Seismic] variant.
Oho? Rael’s eyes sparkled. Another ability that lets me add skill variants. I wonder if there’s any way I can combine all the variants to produce something even more overpowered.
Of course, he could do that by dissolving the skills, but he suspected that directly combining the variants might produce something special.
But aside from that, he wasn’t left disappointed with that Law, and there was only one more left.
1. Growth Seed: Imbue a skill, construct, or ally with a Seed for 10 seconds. While seeded, constructs’ and allies’ regeneration is increased by +500,000%. The seeded skill’s cost decreases by 50%. One target at a time. Cooldown: 30 minutes.
2. Maintaining the same Domain reduces its upkeep by 10% per consecutive second, up to 50%. The bonus resets if the Domain ends.
This one was a little more tricky. He knew it was good, and it was basically a lifesaver skill. But there was also one slight issue with the first bit.
How was he supposed to explain this to the people he would cast it on?

“You’ll do what…?” Gaia muttered, flustered.
Rael froze, embarrassment welling up in his chest. “Of course you can read my mind… Sorry about that, I was reading the Law effect. It’s a little… I don’t even know. I just won’t tell people I have this.”
“Why? It’s a good special effect. Do you not see its value?” Gaia replied in a dead serious tone. “You simply touch a person and implant your seed in them. The effects are wonderful too.”
You’re not making this better. Rael rubbed his temples. “It’s fine, sorry. My mind’s just a little elsewhere.”
Gaia smiled. “I can imagine. For a mortal, spending 74 years alone is quite daunting. Though I suppose you could say you weren’t exactly alone. I was inside your mind, nourishing it.”
I knew it. Rael chuckled and gave her a thankful nod. “I appreciate it, Gaia. And hey, you can stay here for as long as you want, so long as you don’t try to take over my body or something.”
“I’m not evil,” Gaia replied. “But I am considered a special existence. I’m taking up a form that would make conversations a bit easier between us, and I’m also making sure to talk to you in the same way you talk to others.”
“Hmm? I don’t care much about your form,” Rael said flatly. “You can take up any form that you want. Oh, and don’t try to force yourself to be someone you’re not on my account. I’ve talked with my fair share of all kinds of people.”
Hearing that, Gaia hesitated, but seeing the look in his eyes, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
“I’m sorry, but I’d rather not return to my past self… I was dull and pragmatic. People tended to ignore my words because they came across as way too detached and emotionless. What I’m trying to say is… I enjoy this personality more than my old one, so I won’t be changing back.”
