Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything! Chapter 122

Evernight didn’t question further, and Igaris continued learning without wasting a moment.

Next, he chose: World Destroying Finger.

This technique wasn’t just theoretical. The creator of this art had mastered it and ascended to become a powerful Martial Artist. Since then, no one had been able to comprehend it.

But now, it was Igaris’s turn.

With the Architect’s Eyes and Infinite Acquisition by his side, he believed there was nothing he couldn’t learn.

And once again, success followed.

[ Congratulations! You have acquired a new Ability: World Destroying Finger ]

> A single-finger attack capable of destroying anything.

It was an offensive Martial Art, exactly what he needed at the moment. With his Legendary -9 power, it could easily prove to be a game changer.

Now, all he needed was practical training.

He did not require a Martial Core because he possessed the Inner World within him, a realm that functioned as both an energy generator and a provider.

This Inner World was the very first creation born from his wish through Infinite Acquisition, and it was nothing short of a miracle.

The more it expanded, the stronger he would become. With every expansion, the amount of energy at his disposal would grow exponentially.

Next, he rummaged through the rest of the scrolls and picked the final Martial Art he would learn for now. The others were not as urgent and would require more time to fully comprehend.

Though he had memorized a few Sword Arts to study later, his focus now was on one last technique.

This enigmatic Martial Art claimed to destroy a person’s soul from a distance. More precisely, it was a soul-based attack, the kind that often led to mutual destruction. However, this one promised a more efficient kill with significantly less risk.

Without hesitation, Igaris activated the Architect’s Eyes and began comprehending once more. All around him lay scattered scrolls and ancient scriptures, evidence of his relentless pursuit of power.

He could have studied all of this within his residence. But instead, he chose to remain in the Scripture Hall for a reason.

He wanted the Sect Master to witness it. To see him here, among the rarest techniques, calmly learning what no one else dared. It was a statement. A declaration that he was the true Dao Child.

The title was not just for pride. It was essential to expanding his influence and gaining access to greater resources.

Trouble would come with that attention, of course. But he was not afraid.

He had survived the Voids.

Compared to that nightmare, even Martial Gods were nothing.

So why would he fear these mortals?

Outside the Scripture Hall, beneath the shade of a Spirit Tree, a group of elders had gathered in quiet anticipation. Their gazes were fixed toward the top floor of the building, where one figure still remained within.

Elder Huo stroked his white beard, eyes narrowed.

"He’s been up there for nearly two days... and yet, there hasn’t been a single sign of exhaustion. I would have assumed he was simply browsing, but the spiritual fluctuations coming from that floor say otherwise."

"Indeed," another elder replied, adjusting his long robe. "Three Conceptual Martial Arts. Back-to-back. One of them a forbidden Concept, no less. I can hardly believe it. That floor hasn’t seen proper use in decades."

A third elder, the youngest among them, let out a sigh. "Yin-Yang Reversal. World Destroying Finger. And now Soul Eclipse? Even we would not dare to comprehend those carelessly. Yet this boy, no, this Dao Child, treats them like daily studies."

Elder Huo frowned. "Talent is one thing. But to comprehend Soul Arts without harming your own soul requires something more. He has patience, intelligence, and frightening control. This kind of monster is not born every century."

"But what concerns me," murmured the younger elder, "is not his power... but his ambition. Look at where he chose to learn. He could have done this in private. He wanted to be seen. He wanted this to be known."

"Of course," Huo said, eyes gleaming. "He knows how the sect works. Reputation brings resources. Authority. Followers. But it also brings enemies."

Silence settled among them for a moment.

"Do you think he knows that?" the youngest asked.

"No," Huo replied. Then paused. "...Or maybe he does. Which is far more terrifying."

From nearby, an elder disciple eavesdropping couldn’t help but whisper to himself:

"So the Dao Child inside... no wonder the elders gathered around here. Hehe... This news surely hit.."

Inside, unknown to them, Igaris remained calm in his meditation.

All of a sudden, he opened his eyes.

The Soul Connecter inside his pocket began to vibrate with unusual intensity.

"She’s here," he murmured, his blue eyes shimmering with a rare mix of excitement and warmth. He felt as if he hadn’t seen her for eons. The longing, the love—they were all there.

In the future timeline, he had repeatedly rejected her love numerous time. Not because he didn’t care, but because of the blood ties they shared. It felt wrong to him back then. Yet time had a way of revealing truths the heart already knew.

He remembered how she had worked tirelessly to expand his influence, managing his territories with unshakable dedication. How she stayed in the shadows, caring deeply, crying quietly before their paths were forced to part.

Eventually, he gave in. Not out of guilt, but out of clarity. He had finally seen the love behind every action, every unspoken word, every sacrifice. And so, he embraced her—not just as a companion, but as his life partner.

He could still feel her joy from that day. The way her hands trembled in happiness, how her eyes welled with tears when he finally said yes.

She had been the most blissful then.

After their union, they had their 2nd child, besides Evernight’s. Although Evernight was initially hesitant, she had accepted her like the other wives. Because, in the end, as long as she could stay by his side, she needed nothing more.
