Luo Qianqian and her entourage were returning from the supermarket when they saw a small crowd gathered at the door.
"What’s going on?" Luo Guohui frowned as he looked at the group of people and asked loudly. Was his family putting on a monkey show?
"Grandpa, you’re back. It’s just my schoolmates," Luo Yanhao hurried forward to admit his mistake, "They heard I had a sister and insisted on coming to see her. I couldn’t stop them." He spoke as if it were true. Luo Guohui glared at his grandson.
"Qianqian has just finished her exams. Let her rest today, and you can take her out tomorrow." Luo Guohui looked at Luo Qianqian, who was holding a small bag with tender affection and spoke softly, "Qianqian, go play with your brothers for a while. If they annoy you, come home and find Grandpa, okay?" He then took the bag from Luo Qianqian’s hand.
Luo Yanwu took the bag from Shufan’s hand, saying to both, "I’ll be out after I drop these things off." With that, he scurried into the house.
"Qianqian, don’t go too far," Yue Tingyu advised, watching Luo Qianqian turn around, wanting to help her with the things in her hand, and quickly refusing, raising the items higher, "Grandma can handle it, you go play."
Luo Qianqian looked at her brothers innocently and then obediently stood in front of Luo Yanhao and sweetly called out, "Second Brother."
"See, that’s my sister, much better than all those shoddy sisters you guys have, my very own," Luo Yanhao said happily as he pointed at Luo Qianqian, then lifted her up.
"Second brother," Shufan felt like he was just a foil. Weren’t other people’s families either male-dominant or treating sons and daughters equally? Why did he always find himself in a family that favored daughters over sons?
"This is my brother. You know about that competition, right? The one that Xu Family kid participated in, my brother and sister both went to compete in the final round, and they just got back from the exams today," Luo Yanhao said proudly, as if he himself had participated in the competition.
"If that Xu Family kid is participating, there’s no need to guess, he’s definitely taking the Gold Award."
"Yanhao, can’t you draft your lies first? Your sister is so young, barely five or six, participating in that competition? My brother is eight and didn’t even make it to the preliminaries," a boy interjected.
"Han Yayu, don’t think your brother is so great," Luo Yanhao said with an unhappy face, "Keep this up, and don’t bother hanging out with us. My sister might be young, but after New Year’s she’ll be seven. But she’s a fourth-grader, you know? She might not be as good as that Xu kid, but she’s still a little genius. There’s no reason for your skepticism."
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. How could she be less than others? How could she be just seven years old? Declaring her actual age would scare you all to death, over twenty years old.
"Sister, Little Five, Grandma told me to take you to your rooms," Luo Yanwu said, looking at his second brother holding their sister somewhat discontentedly, since he hadn’t gotten to hold her yet, "Also, Second Brother, don’t forget the gifts."
"Ah, got it, I’m on it. Sister, I’ll come back and play with you, okay?" Luo Yanhao stuffed Luo Qianqian into Luo Yanwu’s arms, patted her little head, and waved his hand, "Let’s go, follow me." He then disappeared with a large group of people at the door of the Luo Family compound.
"Brother, do I really look that young?" Luo Qianqian, leaning on Luo Yanwu’s body, looked up at Shufan and asked.
"No, you look about six, not five."
"Definitely not like a three or four-year-old child."
Shufan and Luo Yanwu said at the same time.
Luo Qianqian blinked her eyes and shut her mouth obediently.
Luo Yanwu went upstairs and pushed open a bedroom door, "Do you room?"
There was a bed in the room, with dolls placed upon it. Pink bed sheets, curtains, and wallpaper all matched, and there was a cozy brown carpet. The desk even had fairy tale books on it.
"Brother, how can you sleep in such a room?" Luo Qianqian actually felt the room quite suitable for her current age.
In the hotel, she was always in a double room, and judging by the size of the bed, her brother should be able to stretch out in it.
"You’ll sleep separately; Little Five’s room is next door." As Luo Yanwu said that, he opened the door to the adjoining room. Luo Qianqian glanced inside and knew her brother was going to abandon her tonight. The carpet had a Magic Circle pattern, the wallpaper featured a starry sky, and even the curtains were Magic Circle-themed.
At home, their mother would never allow such decor, so looking at the ideal bedroom in front of him, Shufan was overjoyed and instantly fell in love with it.
"Your room was designed by Grandma and Mom together, and Little Five’s was decorated by someone based on his preferences. So I’m not sure if you’ll like it," Luo Yanwu said while naturally addressing the confusion on his sister’s face.
