"Alright." Charles Seymour agreed so readily, simply because of the three words "not familiar" that Sophie Wilson had just said.
It’s fortunate that Sophie said those three words, sparing Julian Campbell a "disaster".
The joyful atmosphere was completely ruined after receiving a phone call.
"Hmm, okay, I’ll go over tomorrow morning." Sophie Wilson hung up the phone and leaned back in her chair.
It was supposed to be a happy day, but who would have thought someone would dampen it just as she got home.
"Stephen Wilson’s call?" Charles Seymour brought in a cup of milk, composed and unbothered by any awkwardness from hearing Sophie’s call.
"Yes." Sophie, of course, had nothing to hide from him, nodded, "He asked me to go to their house tomorrow morning. After all this time, they finally thought of a solution."
"It’s still a plan to deal with me." Sophie sighed helplessly, "The bias is just boundless."
"Don’t feel bad, he’s not your dad." Charles placed the document folder he was holding onto the table and handed the milk to Sophie.
Sophie understood this.
Nothing can interfere with eating and drinking.
After obediently finishing the milk, Sophie opened the folder to look.
As her eyes scanned line by line, her expression changed continuously, and after finally finishing, she closed the document with a long exhale.
Charles silently watched her, unsure if she would be upset.
"Damn it, I was wondering why Stephen Wilson was acting so weird." Sophie slapped the document onto the table angrily, "He’s trying to use Lily Warren to kill me and then rightfully take over my assets!"
No wonder when she "got lost" as a child, Stephen Wilson only pretended to be anxious.
Thinking back, Stephen Wilson can run a company; he isn’t brainless.
Did he really not see through Lily Warren and Grace Wilson’s little schemes?
No, he saw it clearly, but just wanted to use Lily Warren and Grace Wilson to force her away.
"Doesn’t it say that once I turn eighteen, the property should be returned to me?" Sophie raised an eyebrow at Charles, "Was the person keeping this document bribed by Stephen Wilson?"
Even if the document has legal effect, without someone to assert the rights, it’s just like a scrap of paper.
"Yes." Charles nodded, "This person is from Stephen Wilson’s hometown. He took the money to keep quiet but didn’t destroy the document."
"The man is timid, leaving himself a way out." Sophie chuckled, patting the document in her hand, "Someone who could produce so much money twenty years ago isn’t a nobody."
"It’s a pity; it was cash, so we still haven’t found out who gave Stephen Wilson the money to raise you." Charles said regrettably.
"No worries, it’s about luck." Reborn, Sophie didn’t have much obsession about her birth parents; she just wanted to cut all ties with Stephen Wilson’s family.
As for what mattered most in her life now, that was—getting close to Charles Seymour and spending her life with him!
She had only this one goal!
"I’ll drive you there tomorrow," Charles offered.
"No need." Sophie waved her hand, "I don’t have to go during rush hour, taking the subway is fine."
He wasn’t free every day; although she didn’t know his occupation, she knew he was always busy in front of the computer.
