"Is Auntie watching TV? Why do I hear a man’s voice? It’s quite nice, which actor is this? Seems pretty promising," Julian said as he reached his room door, ready to step outside.
The sound from Sophie’s side paused for a moment, then she burst out laughing, "Julian, what you said is too fake."
"Do you think I’m hiding a man in my room and putting a green hat on your uncle?"
Julian laughed awkwardly, caught off guard by Sophie’s straightforwardness.
Yet, he accepted it, without the slightest intention of defending himself: "Auntie, my uncle may not be good with words, but he’s genuine! His feelings for you are pure gold, no fakery at all."
Sophie laughed, seeming to talk away from the phone to the man beside her: "Did you hear that? Pure gold."
Julian listened with curiosity and then heard a clearer male voice from the receiver: "Julian, it’s me."
"Uncle!" Julian was shocked, "Uncle, you came over?"
Hadn’t he just finished a call with him?
If Uncle came over, why would he call instead of coming to his room to find him?
"We’re on a QQ video call," Sophie explained with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Julian finally understood and said with a smile: "Then I won’t disturb you."
Quickly hanging up the phone, Julian sighed in relief.
Uncle seems really attached to Auntie, even going for a video call.
Releasing the door handle, Julian paused in his steps, realizing Uncle had hurriedly ended their call to video chat with Auntie.
So... he’s the one being abandoned by Uncle?

Little did Sophie know Julian was dramatizing things again, as she was happily video chatting with Charles Seymour.
"Julian surely defends you. He even worries I’ll look for someone else," Sophie said, covering her mouth with a playful smile, as she found Julian more amusing with time.
Charles calmly nodded with slight disdain: "Worrying unnecessarily."
"Hmm? Aren’t you worried?" Sophie teased Charles with a raised eyebrow.
Charles’s lips curled slightly, as if unimpressed by Sophie’s question: "Over at Grace’s side..."

Sophie’s bluntness made Charles quite pleased, the curvature of his lips clearly showing his good mood.
Only family would be so straightforward, it seemed Sophie was treating him as family.
"I’ll come to see you in a couple of days," Charles said.
"Huh? Isn’t work keeping you busy?" Sophie asked in surprise.
"Yeah, done being busy," Charles said seriously to his computer screen, ignoring the full inbox of emails on the screen.
"Alright," Sophie agreed, smiling joyfully.
Seeing Sophie’s radiant smile, Charles suddenly asked, "Did you miss me?"
"I did!" Sophie admitted boldly, then leaned closer to the camera with a grin, "Mr. Seymour, did you miss me?"
