"Because..." Sophie Wilson drew out her voice, clearly feeling the slight tension in Charles Seymour’s muscles.
If she weren’t so familiar with him, she would surely have missed this subtle change.
Sophie blinked mischievously at him and spoke the answer that made his heart leap: "You once did this."
As soon as Sophie spoke, Charles was filled with confusion, mixing bewilderment with a sense of relief.

Charles’s Adam’s apple bobbed nervously up and down, and he nodded slightly.

"The secret is, you imprisoned me for ten whole years, doing experiments on me continuously, and in the end..."

She reached out, slender fingers pinching Charles’s determined jaw, forcing him to look up and meet her gaze.
"Your experiment didn’t succeed, it didn’t heal my body. Mr. Seymour, can you guess, in the end, how did I get better?" Sophie stared down at Charles.
Her dark eyes fixed intently on him.
The things Sophie was talking about far exceeded Charles’s comprehension.
But there was one thing that Charles was very clear about: he wanted to know how she recovered.

"How did you get better?" Charles’s eyes suddenly lit up with excitement, showing how eager he was for that answer.
Sophie sighed lightly inside, indeed.
Then, she lowered her head, gave a soft bite on Charles’s thin lips, then parted, and spoke to his bewildered eyes, like a wail: "Some fool exchanged their heart for mine."
