"Sophie, Sophie..." Lucy Wells ran into Sophie Wilson’s office, whispering anxiously, "President Palmer is back."
"Oh." Sophie Wilson nodded.
"Sophie, why aren’t you worried? Eva went over with President Palmer!" Lucy Wells was almost frantic, "She might badmouth you in front of him!"
Sophie Wilson smiled, "It’s not a ’might,’ it’s a certainty."
"Then what should we do?" Lucy Wells was getting flustered, "What if President Palmer makes things difficult for you later? Sophie, how about we buy something for Eva?"
"If you’re embarrassed to go, I’ll go for you."
Seeing Lucy Wells, almost in tears with worry, Sophie Wilson sighed lightly in her heart, "Lucy, why are you so good to me?"
"We’re friends." After saying that, Lucy Wells hurriedly asked, "What should we buy? I noticed she likes clothes and jewelry, maybe we could..."
"Sophie Wilson, President Palmer is looking for you." Eva’s arrogant voice interrupted Lucy Wells.
She deliberately stood at the entrance of the marketing department and spoke loudly to make sure everyone could hear.
"Coming." Sophie Wilson comfortingly patted Lucy Wells’s nervous hand before standing up to leave.
Lucy Wells anxiously followed, staring at Sophie Wilson with concern and biting her lip nervously.
"Sophie Wilson, my uncle is looking for you." Eva raised her head proudly, looking at Sophie Wilson with her nose in the air, displaying her arrogance to the fullest.
"I heard." Sophie Wilson glanced amusingly at Eva, without a hint of fear.
Eva couldn’t believe Sophie Wilson wasn’t worried at all, "Go ahead, see if you still don’t cry later."
Ignoring Eva’s provocation, Sophie Wilson just smiled and went to President Palmer’s office.
"Hmph, acting all calm here; let’s see how you cry later!" With her uncle back, Eva felt backed, finally ready to vent her frustrations from the past few days.
"Eva, Sophie didn’t mean it, don’t be angry. I saw you liked that bag last time, how about I buy it for you?" Lucy Wells whispered in persuasion.
"Buy me a bag?" Eva sneered disdainfully, "It’s pointless, even if you bring over a mountain of gold. I’m telling you, Sophie Wilson is definitely getting fired!"
"Sister Carter." Eva turned and happened to see the HR and admin supervisor, Sister Carter, and called out.
"Yes?" Sister Carter immediately squeezed over with a sycophantic smile, "Eva, what’s up?"
"Sister Carter, get ready to handle Sophie Wilson’s dismissal procedures." Eva’s words changed Lucy Wells’s expression drastically, and she asked in shock, "Eva, are you saying the company is going to fire Sophie?"
"She offended me, why wouldn’t we fire her?" Eva said triumphantly, arms crossed.
"But without a job, what will Sophie do?" Lucy Wells was so anxious she was about to cry.
"What does her situation have to do with me? Doesn’t she have a rich boyfriend? She should seize the opportunity to get as much money as she can while he’s still interested. Otherwise, she’ll end up with nothing when he dumps her."
Eva glanced smugly at the surrounding colleagues, particularly focusing on those who had once sided with Sophie Wilson.
She wanted to show them who really called the shots in this company!
Then they’d all be packing their bags!
