"You think I’m stupid?" He understood this part and asked angrily, "How am I stupid?"
"If you’re not stupid, who is?" The speaker rolled their eyes at him, "Why did the boss leave in such a hurry, if not to go back to the boss’s wife?"
"How do you know?" He asked in surprise.
A round of disdainful murmurs came from those around: "You’re stupid, what have we been busy with these days?"
"No, that’s not... I mean, is our boss serious?" He exclaimed, seemingly unable to accept this fact.
The crowd looked at him as if he were an idiot: "If the boss isn’t serious, what is he?"
"Is all our hard work just for fun?"
"Did the boss spend all that money just because he had too much and nowhere to spend it?"
"I thought it was because our boss was unsettled inside, and that’s why... I didn’t expect our boss to really have a crush... Hey, don’t look at me like that, do you think our boss looks like someone who would fall in love?" He questioned indignantly.
The crowd fell silent; it really did seem... unlikely.
"Do you think the boss thanking us is more shocking or the boss falling in love is more shocking?" He asked curiously.
Someone tentatively spoke up: "I think the boss thanking us for his romantic partner is the most shocking."
Such a valid point, there was no way to refute it.

Charles answered seriously, "Opening the door lets in the wind."
When he came in, there was indeed a draft.
Charles pulled Sophie inside, away from the door, to prevent her from getting blown by the wind.
"Mr. Seymour, you’re so handsome today." Sophie leaned on Charles’s arm, chuckling with narrowed eyes.
Charles glanced at Sophie and asked indifferently, "When am I not handsome?"
Sophie widened her eyes in surprise and then burst out laughing: "Have you changed from being reserved to openly flirtatious?"
Charles slightly raised an eyebrow; when had he ever been reserved?
Charles’s reaction made Sophie laugh out loud, hooking his neck directly, rising on her tiptoes, and giving him a heavy kiss on the lips.
Delivered to his lips, if he didn’t savor it, wouldn’t he be a fool?
Her fingers spread open; he directly clasped the back of Sophie’s head so she couldn’t escape. Taking charge, he kissed the person in his arms until she was dizzy, finally letting her nest gently in his embrace.
Sophie’s lips, slightly parted, were moist and red, and the faint warm breath she exhaled provoked the fierce beast inside Charles’s heart to roar wildly, ready to break free at any moment and recklessly do something.
Yet her eyes, as if shimmering with stars, looked at him with full trust, clear without a hint of impurity, forcing his reason to suppress the wild thoughts in his heart and remain a gentleman.
"I’ll go change clothes first." Charles spoke, his voice hoarse and quite unnatural.
Fortunately, Sophie was still somewhat dazed at this moment, nodding her head, instinctively concerned about him: "Okay, I’ve had the kitchen prepare a late-night snack; come down and eat later."
"Alright." Charles responded, giving Sophie a deep look, his eyes seemingly holding a sticky black flame capable of burning everything in the world, fiercely ablaze.
