The abrupt ringtone of her phone rang out, making Sophie Wilson frown as she picked it up to take a glance. Then, a peculiar smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she answered the call: "Dad."
"Hmm... alright, I got it... no, hmm... hmm... okay."
After hanging up the phone, Sophie Wilson snorted lightly: "Boring."
"What’s up?" Charles Seymour couldn’t help but ask. Having investigated her family’s situation, he naturally knew Stephen Wilson was not a good person.
"My dad wants me to attend the quarterly meeting at the head office," Sophie Wilson sneered, "and told me that last time it was my mom’s fault, but even so, she’s still my mom. He wants me to be more understanding since we’re family and not to hold grudges."
"This time, it was Grace Wilson who suggested I attend the head office’s quarterly meeting. She wants me to see how nice my mom and sister are to me."
When mentioning "mom" and "sister," Sophie couldn’t hide her sarcasm.
"I’m already having someone investigate what happened back then," Charles Seymour said in a deep voice.

"No rush, it was so many years ago, take your time," Sophie Wilson said with a smile.
She knew his identity wasn’t simple, but matters from over twenty years ago weren’t easy to investigate.
She hoped he wouldn’t get anxious.
"Since I woke up from my serious illness, Grace Wilson has been hinting that I shouldn’t be a burden to the family and should move to the branch office, away from home," Sophie Wilson touched her chin and snickered, "How come she’s now so kind as to let me go back to the head office?"
Charles Seymour’s eyes darkened, and before he could speak, Sophie burst out laughing: "It doesn’t matter, it’s just her little trick."
After saying this, Sophie Wilson’s eyes sparkled as she stared at Charles Seymour: "Come on, let’s do it again."
Charles Seymour: "..."
"Aren’t you worried about Grace Wilson?"
At this moment, she still had the mood to watch him solve a Rubik’s cube?
"Worried about what?" Sophie Wilson shrugged indifferently, "I used to think of them as family, but now I know they aren’t, so why should I give in to them?"

"Amazing," Sophie Wilson marveled as she took the Rubik’s cube, looking it over endlessly, her face full of admiration for Charles Seymour, "Master, you’re incredible!"
"Come on, let’s play the Nine Rings puzzle," Sophie Wilson eagerly brought out the toy she had bought to play with Charles Seymour.
Seeing she wasn’t affected by Stephen Wilson at all, Charles Seymour was relieved and accompanied her in playing this childish game he hadn’t touched since he was six.
This toy he had long dismissed, playing with her, now had a unique charm.
Watching her frown as she unlocked it, he casually and effortlessly solved it, instantly receiving her full admiration.
Suddenly, his mood brightened, even feeling a bit lightheaded.
The two ended up playing for over an hour, during which he continually taught her some tricks, even guiding her hand by hand.
Their fingers touched, sharing each other’s warmth.
