Sophie Wilson took a deep breath in secret, determined to flirt back.
"We really are in sync, this is what they call ’husband leads, wife follows,’ right?" Sophie said, raising her eyebrow in feigned calmness.
After all, flirting was something she had zero experience with, not in this life, or the last.
All she could do was crudely imitate.
Charles Seymour gave a deep look at Sophie Wilson, his profound gaze unsettling her heart.
"Yeah." Charles said lightly, and Sophie almost smacked him with the slice of bread in her hand.

Sophie turned around, angrily biting into her slice of bread, imagining it was someone, biting hard, harder, hardest!
She chomped and chomped!
Watching Sophie puff up like an angry little squirrel, cheeks bulging as she stuffed food into her mouth, his eyes filled with an uncontainable affection.
The cleaning lady came downstairs and said softly, "Miss Wilson, your phone has been ringing continuously."
Mr. Seymour had many rules, she wouldn’t dare touch the homeowner’s possessions without permission.
"Oh..." Sophie was just about to say something when Charles spoke, "Go get it."
With the instruction given, the cleaning lady turned around to go upstairs and retrieve the phone.
Sophie glanced at Charles and said jokingly, "Hey, Mr. Seymour, I’ve found you’re quite secretly sassy."
Charles frowned, his face darkened a bit.
Unfortunately, Sophie wasn’t scared of him at all.
"Are you worried that if I go get the phone, it would disrupt our meal, and then if I wait until after eating to check it, you’d be afraid of delaying my affairs?" Sophie laughed as she shared her guess.
Regardless of how they started, whether because of a "deal," she was wholeheartedly invested in this relationship.
So, she’d speak up about everything with him slowly.

Having her hit the nail on the head, a flicker of panic appeared in Charles’s eyes, suddenly reminded of the four-character phrase Kai Bright taught him—"Make-believe, real deal!"
Charles steadied his emotions and said, "Yes."
Sophie didn’t expect he’d admit it so straightforwardly, looking at him in surprise.
Seeing Sophie’s eyes light up instantly, Charles felt his mood improve even more.
Even the air he breathed seemed sweet, and now if only...
"Miss Wilson, your phone." The sudden appearance of the cleaning lady made the little bubbles of happiness in Charles’s heart pop.
Why show up so untimely?

Charles quietly consoled himself, feeling relieved.
Just now, he almost impulsively told her everything.
Thinking of the consequences if she knew the truth, Charles felt tense, secretly thankful they got interrupted at the critical moment.
Sophie took her phone and after just a glance at the caller ID, it rang again, indicating the caller was eager to reach her.
"Dad, something you need?... Yeah, the phone wasn’t nearby just now... Okay, I’ll pack up and head back."
Just as Sophie hung up, Charles received a text message, reading it out loud, "Grace Wilson had someone go to the Wilson Clan to chase you for debt."
