The next morning, Wan Chu’er woke up early with bags under her eyes, responding to her biological clock.
Reminded of last night’s events, she let out a mournful groan, rushed to the bathroom, washed her face with cold water, and decided to continue her jogging routine.
The frustration was real; perhaps only by running freely and sweating profusely could she feel refreshed.
Yet, as soon as she descended the stairs, she saw Jiang Ke Chu standing in front of a green military vehicle, decked out in camouflage.
This surprised Wan Chu’er since Jiang Ke Chu rarely wore camouflage. He usually dressed in a restrained standard military uniform and more often than not came to see her in casual clothes.
Was he going on a mission? Wan Chu’er pondered. The thought of this possibility made her lips curl up involuntarily. The slight feeling of loss that passed through the bottom of her heart was quickly ignored.
Seeing Wan Chu’er come down the stairs in her crisp sportswear, Jiang Ke Chu’s mouth curved up, and he looked at her intently and attentively, without saying a word.
Feeling the intense gaze from Jiang Ke Chu, Wan Chu’er felt uncomfortable all over, as if she was about to start walking awkwardly with her limbs out of sync. Irritated and embarrassed, she glared at Jiang Ke Chu.
"What are you looking at? Haven’t seen a beauty before?"
Jiang Ke Chu immediately smiled, his eyes curving happily, "I’ve seen one; I just can’t get enough."
The words were stuck in her chest, and Wan Chu’er gritted her teeth. Could he be serious for once, so early in the morning?!
Forget it, there were more important things.
Wan Chu’er approached Jiang Ke Chu with a Schadenfreude smile and asked, "Are you going on a mission, old man? I thought you were rotting from idleness, always loitering around here."
Looking into her sparkling eyes, Jiang Ke Chu couldn’t hold back the urge to pull her into his embrace, and in fact, that’s exactly what he did.
Acting before thinking, it only happened when he was in front of Wan Chu’er.
Caught off guard, Wan Chu’er found herself tightly held in Jiang Ke Chu’s arms, and she struggled fiercely.
"Jiang Ke Chu, what the hell are you doing? Let go of me right now! People are coming and going, if they see us, where will I put my face..."
Jiang Ke Chu, on the other hand, hugged her even tighter, his right hand stroking her soft hair.
"Be good, stop fussing, let me hold you properly; I’m leaving soon."
Upon hearing the words ’leaving soon,’ Wan Chu’er stopped struggling and bit down on Jiang Ke Chu’s shoulder.
But when she bit down, she found it hard and quickly let go, spat a few times, and said, "If you’re leaving, then hurry up and go, stop dilly-dallying, it is not like you to be so unserious."
Jiang Ke Chu hummed, savoring the softness in his arms a moment longer, then spoke in an indulgent tone:
"I might be gone for over a month. When I’m not here, don’t flirt with other men, think hard about last night’s question, and try to come to terms with it soon. If you have any problems, you can go to the electronic mall for Xiao Shan’s help, or find Mai Qiqi and Xiaoxiao. Don’t be stubborn and pick fights.
Don’t get into fights, and if you must, don’t get hurt yourself. Eat properly and don’t lose weight; if I come back and find you thinner, you’ll be in big trouble."
After a list of stern instructions, Jiang Ke Chu lowered his voice and added, "Behave and wait for me to come back."
With that, he cradled Wan Chu’er’s face in his hands, ignoring her struggles and protests, and leaned down to firmly kiss the lips he had longed for in his dreams.
"Uh... uh... uh... Jiang Ke..." Wan Chu’er wanted to curse, but as soon as she opened her mouth, Jiang Ke Chu took advantage and stormed in, conquering her passionately.
