Seeing Qi Liang unexpectedly, Tang Li was also startled.
Qi Liang came over and asked her, "Aren’t you afraid the snake might bite you?"
Glancing at the docile little green snake wrapped around her, Tang Li didn’t want to boast about how fearless she was. Instead, she truthfully said, "If I’m not mistaken, it doesn’t bite. It’s the kind that can be bought online as a pet."
Hearing this, Qi Liang’s brows relaxed, but then he frowned again and said, "As a young lady, touching these things carelessly, aren’t you afraid of poisoning yourself?"
Tang Li smiled, "I know how to tell if it’s poisonous or not."
Saying this, she looked back at Qi Liang.
Guessing something, Tang Li handed over the little snake, "Since it’s yours, I won’t hold onto it."
The security guard happened to come back with a woven bag.
"Miss Tang, put the snake in here, and I’ll throw it away." The security guard, now aware of which actress caught the snake and fearing it might hurt Tang Li, quickly opened the zipper of the bag without delay.
To their surprise, a dark-skinned old man snatched the snake and squinting at him sneered: "Tall and strong, but wasn’t as eager to grab the snake yourself, letting a young girl handle it, I’m embarrassed for you."
The security guard scratched his ear, crestfallen.
The male actors present, at least half of them, began to look uneasy.
After Qi Liang found his pet snake, he didn’t stay long. Just as he reached the doorway, he suddenly remembered something, turned around and asked Tang Li, "Are you an artist under IMG?"
Although Tang Li didn’t know why Qi Liang had asked this, she still replied, "Yes."
Qi Liang nodded, then strode off.
After Qi Liang had left, the lounge was filled with criticism about him, complaining about how he could bring a snake and disturb other guests. Talking over time, the panic caused by the pet snake gradually dissipated.
While Guan Xiao was onstage presenting the Best Actress award, Tang Li’s cellphone buzzed - it was a call from Fu Si.
Tang Li answered the call, Fu Si immediately asked, "Where are you?"
There were sounds of whooshing wind in the earpiece.
"I’m at the awards ceremony."
Tang Li then asked him, "What’s up?"
On the other end of the phone, Fu Si didn’t answer but asked instead: "Still at the Olympic Sports Center?"
Before Tang Li could respond, Fu Si already burst out, "Then come out now, I’m waiting for you at the east gate of the Olympic Sports Center."
"You’re at the Olympic Sports Center?" Tang Li stood up, clutching her cellphone.
"Yeah, so hurry over, I’m almost freezing to death here."
Five minutes later, Tang Li, holding her evening gown, came out and saw Fu Si under the steps of the east gate, wearing a black motorcycle jacket, jeans, and men’s short boots, with a motorcycle helmet hanging on the rear-view mirror. He was bending slightly, adjusting his blond hair with his leather-gloved left hand.
Hearing footsteps, Fu Si looked up and upon seeing Tang Li, his handsome face held a half-smiling expression, "Wow, you’re even prettier than the photos on V-blog!"
Tang Li walked down the steps and asked him, "Why have you come here in the middle of the night?"
"It’s New Year’s Eve, isn’t it? I came to take you out for a midnight snack." Fu Si handed the helmet to her, "Just air-freighted seafood from Australia, if we go now, it’ll still be fresh."
Tang Li breathed out a mist, "I have an interview later, you should go back first."
After saying that, she turned around to go back inside.
She had come out too suddenly, fearing that Guan Xiao might not find her after finishing the award presentation.
