She entered the bathroom and closed the door.
Looking at the mirror again, she found her ears slightly red.

“I’m done.” Tang Li spoke up first.
After speaking, she looked toward Song Baiyan: “I used your towel. If you want to use one, you’ll need to get another.”
Song Baiyan placed the book he was holding on the round table, his gaze landing on her rather mismatched outfit, then to her bare feet: “Not wearing slippers?”
“My feet are still a bit damp.”
As Tang Li spoke, her fair feet rubbed against the carpet a few times.
Then, she noticed Song Baiyan standing up.
Assuming he was going to shower, Tang Li instinctively moved aside.
To her surprise, Song Baiyan didn’t head to the walk-in closet. When he picked Tang Li up again, catching her off guard, she grasped his shirt at his shoulders tightly.
With their eyes meeting, her heart raced: “Why are you holding me again?”
“Can’t I hold you after a bath?”
Unlike her nervousness, Song Baiyan appeared calm and composed.
The man had an allure that made her both captivated and anxious.
Song Baiyan placed Tang Li on the bed, sitting beside her. With his left hand, he picked up the end blanket, while his other hand wrapped her wet little feet: “Let’s dry your feet first, to prevent athlete’s foot.”
“You didn’t have to say the latter part.”
Song Baiyan laughed and looked at her: “Can’t I bring up athlete’s foot?”
Tang Li countered: “Do you think a little fairy would have athlete’s foot?”
Realizing she had wandered off topic, she quickly reminded him: “Aren’t you going to shower?”
Song Baiyan tossed the end blanket aside, his gaze profound yet laced with undeniable gentleness. As he looked at her, he asked, “Without a marriage certificate, are you not afraid of being abandoned after being enticed?”
“Would you do that?”
Without needing his answer, Tang Li already knew it.
In the past few months, she had given him the green light many times. If Song Baiyan was someone reckless, they would have ended up in bed long before today.
Not all men are constantly driven by such impulses.
Sometimes, the more you cherish something, the more you want to nurture it.
Countless days and nights, Tang Li had caught glimpses of Song Baiyan’s feelings for her. So when Song Baiyan’s right hand brushed the back of her neck, gently caressing it, Tang Li spoke again: “This isn’t about getting on the train first and buying the ticket later. Asking someone to propose at the Lai Family is like a presale.”
Hearing the certainty in her voice, Song Baiyan’s right hand moved to hold the back of her head. Without saying anything more, they naturally kissed.
It was no longer just a light peck; this kiss gained intensity.
Tang Li inhaled Song Baiyan’s scent, just like the feeling he gave her—steady and warm, deeply drawing her in.
As she lay down, Song Baiyan leaned over her, his eyes lingering on her delicate face: “First time, are you ready?”
Tang Li nodded, then asked: “Can I be on top?”
