Rebirth: I became rich by farming Chapter 747

He Yiran spoke earnestly, but for Mei Mengzhen, these technologies weren’t all that advanced. After all, facial recognition could already be performed by phones in the future, so there was nothing new to her. However, when she thought about it, it was only the year 2010, and for that time, this was the latest in high-tech.

Mei Mengzhen said, "Okay, but our high-tech must keep pace with the times. After all, technology is developing and techniques are advancing, so obsolescence happens quickly. We just need to keep up with the technological trends."

He Yiran didn’t quite grasp what Mei Mengzhen meant, as he thought that no matter how much progress was made, it couldn’t possibly be that rapid. However, some things turn out to be unexpectedly, but these were all matters for later.

After the goods in the warehouse were moved out, they began delivering to the new Xiyuan.

Because the goods were quite expensive, we didn’t hire any workers today, it was all done by ourselves.

Mei Mengcheng and Fan Tianyu were responsible for moving and delivering the goods, while Mei Mengzhen and He Yiran were in charge of stocking the goods on the corresponding floors and counters.

Exactly, even for such high-end goods, they needed to be displayed properly. If you don’t showcase your products, who will know what you are selling?

However, the display cases here are somewhat more sophisticated.

Although Mei Mengzhen truly couldn’t help with such meticulous tasks. It’s not that she didn’t want to, but He Yiran simply wouldn’t let her. "Yiran, are you sure you don’t need my help?"

"No need, no need, just sit there and rest. I can handle it myself."

It wasn’t that Mei Mengzhen lacked the knowledge; she had been in sales in her previous life and knew how to manage shelves and display cases. However, her tastes and He Yiran’s differed greatly. He Yiran would say that Mei Mengzhen’s taste lacked sophistication and didn’t meet her standards, so he had to do it himself since he met the standards.

Once Mei Mengcheng and Fan Tianyu finished moving the goods, what was once a single bystander instantly became three, all staring blankly as He Yiran busied himself for a long time. By the time He Yiran finished, the day had passed.

As the group took the elevator down to go home, Mei Mengzhen couldn’t help but feel a bit helpless, "Ah, these days seem to be passing too easily."

"I know, right? We were just talking about Xiyuan being under construction, and now it’s about to open. I have no idea what we’ll do after the opening." Speaking of which, Fan Tianyu also felt somewhat uneasy. After all, the old Xiyuan only had so many private rooms, and the new Xiyuan was so much larger. Although both were Xiyuans, they were not on the same level.

But He Yiran said, "It’ll be the same as before. Whatever we used to do, we will continue to do now."

Hearing this, Mei Mengzhen and Fan Tianyu both thought carefully and realized that neither of them had much serious work to do. Unsure whether to voice this or not, the two exchanged a speechless look, but seeing their speechless expressions, He Yiran too realized that they really hadn’t done much work.

Fan Tianyu’s job was to control the Wine Cellar’s password. When he was there, he would fetch the wine; if not, Mei Mengcheng would. Only when neither was available at the restaurant would he allow the front desk to fetch it. His other tasks were making friends and reconciling company accounts, so he didn’t have much to do and it wasn’t particularly important. It was work that could be done by anyone.

Mei Mengzhen, on the other hand, had practically no job at all. She just took care of the restaurant’s menu and didn’t bother with what the restaurant needed. She simply supplied whatever was required on her end, enjoying complete freedom in her work.

The ones with clear job responsibilities were He Yiran and Pei Ziyu. She handled the sales of high-end products, while Pei Ziyu was in charge of Xiyuan’s legal affairs, though Xiyuan never really needed him for that.

In fact, the work of the group didn’t seem particularly standardized. As they were about to start at the new Xiyuan, it was best if their job roles were clearly defined and standardized.

Though they had intended to go straight home, they gathered at Mei Mengzhen’s place as they had matters to attend to and brought along some late-night snacks. They sat together, eating and chatting.

Mei Mengcheng was naturally there too. Although he wasn’t a shareholder, as a part of the company, and given the size of the new Xiyuan, he knew he couldn’t handle everything alone. Mei Mengcheng suggested, "I think, since the old Xiyuan is only so big and the daily deliveries are limited, I can manage with a loader. But the new Xiyuan is so large that even if the orders are fewer, they can’t be the same amount as before. I can start by working with the loader, but if it gets too busy, we’ll definitely need to hire more people. After all, this is manual labor."

Fan Tianyu was going to hire someone anyway. "The volume of shipments won’t increase by much, but the frequency will. We’re currently delivering twice a week, but at the new Xiyuan, we plan to deliver that same amount daily. Of course, our office staff will still have weekends off as usual, so our regular work during the week needs to be accurate."

Mei Mengcheng had no objections to this. "I certainly won’t just watch and do nothing if Xiyuan runs out of stock. That’s not an issue, but our truck is only so large, and the daily deliveries will definitely require two trips. It’s okay to take a day off in between, but it can become very tiring without a break. I suggest we hire a loader because sometimes, after lifting heavy things, my hands shake, affecting my driving."

Feeling overly exerted and shaky was indeed possible, and Fan Tianyu knew this from his own experience with moving goods. Hearing Mei Mengcheng’s request, he immediately agreed, "Okay, let’s hire another loader. If we can manage, we’ll go with a driver and two loaders; if it gets too busy, we’ll hire another driver and get another truck."

With their decisions on drivers settled, they moved on to other positions. Mei Mengzhen said, "Sister Tianhua has done a great job with finance. She studied it professionally, and she’s been studying to become a Certified Public Accountant recently, so I think she’s quite good. We could simply promote her to Finance Manager."

He Yiran and Fan Tianhua had reconciled accounts for so long without errors, hence Mei Mengzhen trusted her abilities. "Alright, Sister Tianhua will take care of finance. What about administration? Previously, she was the one leading that, but it wouldn’t be suitable for her to continue doing so at the new Xiyuan. It’s best to clarify all the positions at once."

After giving it some thought, Fan Tianyu said, "Sister Tianhua has complained to me before that the front desk personnel in the Office wasn’t very good. They lacked initiative, didn’t complete the tasks assigned, and were often caught slacking off. She wanted to fire that person, but with the opening of the new Xiyuan, I figured we’d just not take them along."
