"It’s true," Qin Xiangyang thought the same. Indeed, with a shop, everything else would become easier. They wouldn’t have to haul so much stuff every day, and once they had a stove, they could indeed sell more pancakes. Plus, they could bake and sell at the same time, saving them the trouble of keeping pancakes warm daily. The fresher the pancakes, the tastier they become. As long as people try their freshly baked pancakes, they are bound to like them even more.
"Let’s check it out tomorrow."
Seeing that she had persuaded Qin Xiangyang, Qin Xiangnuan felt relieved and lay back down on the kang to sleep, though in reality, she was reading books in the system. She had already reached her third book recently and wondered when the system would grant her the second lesson. She wasn’t in a hurry because she knew that impatience wouldn’t get her anywhere, and with such a heaven-defying asset at her disposal, it wouldn’t wreak havoc on her without reason.
Asleep again, Qin Xiangyang shook his head, feeling his sister was sleeping too much. They had gotten up together, yet after a short nap, he felt refreshed and remained lively in the afternoon, whereas his sister continued to sleep. He even worried that she might be ill, but thankfully, as long as she got enough rest, she’d wake up in a good spirit.
So, he wondered if his sister needed more sleep because she was young.
Indeed, he remembered that she always slept a lot as a child; once she got enough sleep, she’d be fine.
From the moment they’d decided to rent a shop, they had been on the lookout for available spaces nearby. Opportunities come but once, and they were fortunate enough to find a shop not far from where they set up their stall. The shop, selling food items, had business neither too good nor too bad. However, the family running it was moving away, therefore the shop was up for rent.
Qin Xiangnuan took a fancy to the shop at first sight, and Qin Xiangyang liked it as well. Mainly because it was spacious enough to be partitioned into two sections, and they could add a bed inside when the weather was warm, providing a place to rest if they got tired.
"You want to rent the shop?" The shop owner looked down at the two children in front of him, recognizing that they were the ones selling pancakes here and that they did good business with a positive reputation. The pancakes had been selling for months, always by the same two individuals, without any adults showing up. Despite their young age, the siblings ran a good business.
"Yes, uncle, we want to rent your shop," Qin Xiangyang, being the older and having eaten well these last months, had grown taller, almost resembling a young man.
"I see..." pondered the shop owner, "I can rent the shop to you for five yuan a month. As you’ve noticed, this place has a high footfall, near a bus station, and surrounded by commuting workers. Although it’s a bit expensive, as long as you work hard, you can earn back the rent in just a few days."
"Right, right," Qin Xiangyang nodded continuously. A few days? They would earn it back in just one day. He knew exactly how much they could make in a day. After expenses, on average, they could net at least fifty yuan per day. Five yuan, which used to seem like a large amount, no longer mattered to him.
Qin Xiangnuan thought to herself about the prices of the current era. Now, renting a shop over a hundred square meters cost less than two yuan. Considering the location, condition, and size of this shop, at five yuan, they weren’t losing out, which meant the shopkeeper was quite honest and hadn’t tried to extort them just because they were children.
