Shen Mianmian pinched her little cheeks, which were so tender and fun to play with. As she laughed and played with the baby, who giggled happily, they were soon distracted by a commotion at the door.

A man, accompanied by a middle-aged couple, stood at the door, speaking with Li Shiping.

"Gu Jianbin." The man gave the name, "Do you know him? He said he’s the owner here."
As she had suspected, Shen Mianmian turned to Li Shiping and feigned ignorance, "Sister Shiping, do you and your husband intend to sell the house?"
Upon hearing the name Gu Jianbin, Li Shiping’s face turned pale, "He mentioned it before, but I didn’t agree. I didn’t expect... he would actually call someone to view the house."
Without the house, where would she and her child live? How could she explain this to her family?
However, the man outside didn’t care about any of this; learning from their conversation that the husband intended to sell the house, he forcefully tried to bring clients inside to view it. Li Shiping, being timid, didn’t know how to stop them and was afraid to speak harshly.

Being a woman herself and seeing a husband selling the house behind his wife’s back made her feel angry. Had she known it was , she would not have come to view the house.
She was superstitious and believed the feng shui when buying a house mattered. If the male owner could sell the house without his wife’s consent, she feared buying this house might land her in the same situation as Li Shiping.
The woman’s husband clearly feared a property dispute as well and turned to follow his wife out.
Seeing this, the man was very speechless, muttering and cursing as he also left.
The house was nice and the visiting couple seemed well-off; he had thought this would be a big deal, never expecting it to be a false hope.
Li Shiping closed the door and sat back down on the couch, still in a daze. She really couldn’t understand what her husband was trying to do.
