The first day of the Chinese New Year, the three of them ate dumplings and watched the Spring Festival Gala. Cheng Xining threw her princess tantrums again, but the day still passed quite pleasantly.
The next day, the heavy snow outside finally ceased. Early in the morning, there were many people outside carrying gifts to pay New Year visits. Li Julin’s family wasn’t in Licheng, and He Nan was celebrating the New Year with her, so Shen Mianmian could only go pay a visit to Lu Siyuan’s house.
The snow was too heavy, making it difficult to get around. Originally, Shen Mianmian planned to wait until the snow melted before paying visits, but when she heard that He Nan was going to visit Zhao Xianlai, her eyes lit up, and she decided to hitch a ride with them.

The roads were slippery with snow, but He Nan drove steadily. Along the way, they chatted from time to time. He Nan first dropped Shen Mianmian off at the entrance of Lu Family village before turning around and heading for Zhao Family village.
Before leaving, he casually mentioned, "I’ll come to pick you up after lunch."
Shen Mianmian obediently answered and walked towards Lu Siyuan’s house.

Grandpa Lu was warming himself by the fire, with Dajun sitting next to him; the two were chatting. When they saw Shen Mianmian come in, both were quite surprised.

After Grandpa Lu came to his senses, he immediately smiled, "No wonder Siyuan was constantly watching from the courtyard gate; he was waiting for you. In this heavy snow, how did you manage to come here? Come and warm up by the fire, here, have some sunflower seeds and peanuts."
Dajun moved a stool closer to Grandpa Lu to make a lot of space for Shen Mianmian.
