After settling Little Reunion, Jiang Xue rested for a few minutes and then went to the kitchen to busy herself. Mrs. Jiang watched and followed her into the kitchen.
Bai Yuhua also wanted to go, but unfortunately, her legs were not nimble, so she had to stay in the living room with her grandson.
Jiang Xue busied herself for most of the day before she finally finished preparing over ten kilograms of jerky. Seeing that it was still early, she informed the elderly and then packed her things to head to Mu Qiancheng’s camp.
The camp was a bit far, and even though Jiang Xue walked briskly, it still took her nearly two hours to get there.
When she arrived, Jiang Xue explained her purpose, and the sentinel escorted her in to find Mu Qiancheng.
By the time Jiang Xue arrived, Mu Qiancheng was training the warriors. Upon hearing that his wife had come, he gave a few instructions to his subordinates and hurriedly ran to the dormitory.
This behavior left the warriors astonished. They inwardly wondered what could have happened to make the Cold-faced Yama act so uncharacteristically, as he was someone who remained composed even if Mount Tai collapsed in front of him, yet here he was running.
However, except for the messenger, no one knew the reason.
Mu Qiancheng ran back to the dormitory in one breath and saw Jiang Xue sitting on his bed, holding a military magazine and reading intently.
"Xue’er!" Mu Qiancheng stood at the door for a moment, waited until he caught his breath, and then called out.
Upon hearing Mu Qiancheng’s voice, Jiang Xue quickly looked up, smiling at him with a face full of joy.
Seeing his young wife’s smiling face, Mu Qiancheng felt warmth in his heart and then walked towards her in large strides.
Jiang Xue stood up, watching the man walking toward her, her heart filled with sweetness and her eyes full of laughter. Mu Qiancheng stopped in front of Jiang Xue after a few steps, then reached out his big hands and pulled her tightly into his embrace.
After holding her for a while, he slightly loosened his grip, then looked down at Jiang Xue and asked, "Xue’er, why did you come?"
"I missed you!" Jiang Xue shyly uttered a few words and quickly lowered her head.
One day apart feels like three autumns.
Counting, she hadn’t seen Mu Qiancheng for almost ten days, which felt like dozens of autumns.
Before, she never knew she could miss someone so much that as soon as she closed her eyes, her mind was filled with him.
Mu Qiancheng’s eyes lit up, and he suddenly lowered his head to kiss his young wife’s lips. The words ’I miss you too’ slipped between his lips and teeth and fell into Jiang Xue’s ears.
As their lips touched, Jiang Xue couldn’t help but shiver, as if a current ran through her whole body, leaving her weak and feeble.
Mu Qiancheng’s hand slowly moved to Jiang Xue’s waist, the other hand supporting her nape, as he gradually deepened the kiss.
As they kissed, the two of them tumbled towards the bed. With a soft thud, Jiang Xue suddenly came to her senses, remembering where they were, her face quickly flushed, and she reached out to push against Mu Qiancheng pressing on her.
Mu Qiancheng was so lost in the moment that he wouldn’t heed Jiang Xue’s shoves, let alone the fact that she wasn’t strong enough to push him off.
In the end, Jiang Xue had no choice but to bite Mu Qiancheng hard, which finally made him stop and then look at his blushing young wife with a puzzled expression, asking, "What’s wrong?"
"Get up!" Jiang Xue pushed Mu Qiancheng once more and, seeing that he remained unmoved, had to remind him, "This is the army dormitory; what if your comrades come in later?"
Mu Qiancheng looked at Jiang Xue and suddenly laughed, saying, "Oh, so you’re worried about that? I thought you weren’t feeling well. Don’t worry, without my orders, they won’t come in."
