Rebirth: My Reclusive Husband Helps Me Get Revenge! Chapter 46

The towering glass structure of Lotus International Tower gleamed in the sunlight, its modern design a stark contrast to the older buildings surrounding it. Mo Ran stepped out of the car, his tailored suit immaculate as he strode into the lobby.

Liu Cheng, a man in his late forties with a shrewd gaze and a warm smile, greeted him in the conference room.

"Mr. Mo," Liu said, extending a hand. "It’s an honor to finally meet you. I’ve heard great things about your company."

"The honor is mine, Mr. Liu," Mo Ran replied, his handshake firm. "I’ve been looking forward to this discussion."

Their conversation was smooth, both men speaking in Mandarin as they discussed potential collaborations. Liu Cheng was impressed by Mo Ran’s straightforward yet strategic approach, and by the end of the meeting, they had laid the groundwork for a promising partnership.

As the meeting concluded, Liu Cheng offered a toast with a small cup of baijiu. "To a successful partnership," he said with a smile.

Mo Ran raised his cup, his expression calm but confident. "To success."

Mo Ran arrived at the Mo Corporation branch in Country C soon after that meeting, the gleaming glass building reflecting the afternoon’s sunlight. He had come directly after his meeting from Lotus international, the urgency of the situation pressing on his shoulders. Today wasn’t just about routine business—it was about the crucial acquisition deal with Longwei Group, which had been on the table for months. His decision to continue the negotiations despite their recent financial troubles had raised some eyebrows back at headquarters, but Mo Ran was confident that the potential gains outweighed the risks.

The conference call previously had been tense. Some of his senior executives had recommended pulling out of the deal after seeing the latest financial reports from Longwei, which had shown a sharp decline in profits and stock prices. But Mo Ran was strategist, and he held his belief firm.

"No, we’re not backing out now," he had said during the call. "The opportunity is still there. If we can secure their distribution network and intellectual property, the short-term losses are acceptable. We’ll restructure the deal."

That had been the final word. Now, Mo Ran was in Country C to personally negotiate with Longwei’s executives and make sure the terms were adjusted to his favor.

As he entered the building, Zhao Wei, his trusted assistant, greeted him with a clipboard. "Mr. Mo, the documents for the meeting with Longwei tomorrow have been prepared. However, they’ve requested a one-on-one with you before the group discussions. Should I confirm this with their team?"

Mo Ran’s expression remained neutral as he looked over the paperwork. The one-on-one meeting was exactly what he had hoped for. It would allow him to establish dominance in the negotiations before the larger group discussion. "Yes, confirm it. I want the details settled before we get to the main meeting."

Zhao Wei nodded and quickly made the arrangements. Mo Ran glanced at the clock. There was still some time before the dinner with Chen Lei and Xue Yan, but the next few hours were crucial. Tomorrow’s meeting would be intense, and he needed to ensure everything was in order.

As he settled into his office at the Mo Corporations, he reviewed the latest financial data for Longwei Group. The company’s financial issues were serious, but there were still profitable divisions that Mo Corporation could integrate into their own operations. The restructuring would require skillful negotiations, but Mo Ran wasn’t one to back down from a challenge.

His phone buzzed, interrupting his thoughts. It was a reminder about dinner later that evening with Chen Lei and Xue Yan. While he respected both men, Mo Ran knew that tonight would be just a temporary distraction. The real battle would begin later in the boardroom.

"I’ll need to be prepared," Mo Ran murmured, narrowing his eyes as he looked over the contract proposals. There was still time, but it wouldn’t last long. Tomorrow, he would face Longwei’s CEO, Zhang Wei, and the stakes had never been higher.

Zhao Wei entered, placing more documents on the desk. "Mr. Mo, Longwei’s team sent over a draft for tomorrow’s meeting."

Mo Ran nodded, scanning the highlights. "They’re trying to hold on to something they no longer have. Draft a counterproposal."

The rest of the day flew by in a flurry of planning. As evening approached, Mo Ran headed to a restaurant, where Chen Lei and Xue Yan awaited.

Over dinner, the conversation flowed. Chen Lei and Xue Yan shared stories, subtly asking Mo Ran about the Longwei deal.

Mo Ran offered some insight, but kept his full plans hidden.

As the evening ended, Chen Lei raised his glass. "You seem calm, Mr. Mo, considering the high stakes."

Mo Ran smiled. "Business is about perspective. What some see as risk, I see as opportunity."

The two men exchanged glances, impressed by Mo Ran’s confidence. As they parted ways, Chen Lei clapped Mo Ran on the shoulder. "You’ll come out on top tomorrow. You always do."

Mo Ran smiled. "Thank you. Tomorrow is just another step."

Mo Ran returned to his hotel, his mind still focused on the next day’s meeting. He reviewed his notes one last time, making sure he was prepared for every possible scenario.

As he got ready for bed, his thoughts turned to Lixue. He wondered how her day had gone, if she had enjoyed herself with Red and the others.

Just as he was about to call her, his phone buzzed with an incoming message from Zhao Wei. "Mr. Mo, just confirming that everything is in place for tomorrow’s meeting. The team is ready to proceed as planned."

Mo Ran nodded to himself, even though Zhao Wei couldn’t see him. "Very well, Zhao Wei. I’ll see you tomorrow."

With that, Mo Ran set his phone aside and began to unwind for the night. He would call Lixue in the morning, after he had secured the Longwei deal.

At least he was coming home then, mister Zhang would take her home and he had men guarding her, so he had nothing to worry about for now.
