Rebirth of the Cannon Fodder in the Entertainment Circle Chapter 369

Chapter 369: Chapter 368: If She Doesn’t Retort, That’s Not Her Chapter 369: Chapter 368: If She Doesn’t Retort, That’s Not Her Lu Ning threw the problem right back at Mrs. Luo with just a few words.

Initially, when the crew saw a rich lady coming to attack Lu Ning, coupled with her phone call,

everyone thought Lu Ning was a mistress who had stolen the rich lady’s son’s fiancée.

But judging from Lu Ning’s usual character, it didn’t seem like she would be a mistress and disrupt someone else’s family.

Now when they heard, it turned out the rich lady was so cruel as to plot against her own son with outsiders. This was truly insane.

The scoop was especially juicy, focused on her collaboration with her stepson to wish for her son’s death.

Everyone knew Lu Ning also dabbled in Feng Shui as a side job and that Luo Zeyu was the trainee Lu Ning had brought to a variety show before.

It must have been Luo Zeyu who asked Lu Ning for help, then she exposed the conspiracy and saved his brother’s life. That’s when Mrs. Luo, with her plan ruined, came to settle the score with Lu Ning.

To think there’s such a poisonous mother in this world, truly an eye-opener.

Feeling the disdainful looks from around her, Mrs. Luo nearly died of anger.

She didn’t expect Lu Ning to be so articulate.

She had planned to simply slap Lu Ning, not only to vent the frustration pent up inside but also to influence public opinion and tarnish Lu Ning.

In the entertainment circle, negative news is feared the most, and ruining someone’s family is the kind of thing that is most disliked by fans.

But her first attempt to hit someone failed, and now she was countered by Lu Ning, which infuriated her.

She argued, “What’s the real situation, you know well. Would I harm my own biological son?”

Although she listened to her husband and let her son marry the woman introduced by her eldest daughter-in-law, she also suspected there might be some problems.

But she believed her husband would not harm their son, so she let it be.

She didn’t want to collaborate with her stepson to harm her own son. After all, no matter what, he was her son.

She was actually disgusted by her stepson, as he was the child her beloved husband had with another woman.

But her husband told her to be magnanimous, that the stepson was the pillar of the Luo family, so she gradually accepted the reality and focused on training the eldest.

She harbored resentment towards her son, as her husband had said to merge the second son’s company into the Luo family’s company, which would definitely take it to the next level. Wouldn’t her son benefit from the dividends then?

Yet he had to oppose and annoy her husband.

These past two days were even worse; he not only scolded his eldest brother and his wife but also was full of resentment as he sarcastically criticized his father, then he even suggested cutting off relations.

And even more outrageous, he ignored her scoldings; both sons were now willing to sever ties with her as well.

This drove her to the brink of madness.

The two sons weren’t before. If not for her husband’s reminder, she wouldn’t have known it was this little star causing trouble.

Did their family’s affairs need a little star to intervene? Surely she wanted to cling to her son and sow discord.

That’s why she took the initiative to confront Lu Ning.

But the reality was drastically different from what she had anticipated.

Lu Ning raised an eyebrow, “If you didn’t collaborate with your stepson to harm your biological son, would your two sons voluntarily sever ties with you and your husband?”

“If I were you, I wouldn’t have the face to continue causing trouble. Better hurry back and keep an eye on your husband, or you might lose two biological sons and end up with two illegitimate ones, now that would be a joke.”

Looking at this woman’s features, she seemed self-centered, the type who prioritizes love above everything else.

It’s no wonder that according to Luo Zeyu, their maternal grandparents and uncle now keep their distance from their love-struck mother.

Probably because their own daughter/sister had betrayed them for her husband’s sake too many times.

Mrs. Luo’s Achilles’ heel was her husband; furiously pointing at Lu Ning, she said, “Don’t slander me, my husband would never.”

“Sure, if you think your husband is the best, that’s fine.”

Luo Ning rolled her eyes, “So please leave now; I don’t have time to play with you.”

Is her husband really that great if he would be so biased and even use his wife to harm his own son?

But Luo Ning couldn’t be bothered to say these things, since a person in love wouldn’t listen and would even think she was stirring up trouble.

With that said, Lu Xun had his people forcibly escort Mrs. Luo and the two reporters out of the crew.

After Mrs. Luo left, Luo Ning apologized to Director Mo, “Director Mo, I’m really sorry for causing trouble for the crew today.”

Director Mo, who had been standing and listening for a while, understood the situation.

He couldn’t help but exclaim, “It’s not your fault. I can’t believe there’s such a heartless mother.”

Luo Ning was speechless, she had realized that Mrs. Luo’s thinking was nothing like a normal person’s.

She asked, “Director Mo, do you know what being in love can do to someone’s brain?”

Upon hearing this, Director Mo understood, “So, it’s the love-struck brain? That explains it.”

Luo Ning chuckled, “You know about the love-struck brain too?”

Director Mo nodded, “Yes, a relative of mine has a son exactly like that.”

“He gave his girlfriend everything he owned, only to be played and kicked aside after losing all his family fortune.”

He said frustratedly, “His parents ended up sick and in the hospital, yet he continued to act like a lovestruck fool. It’s truly infuriating.”

Then he heard from his daughter that a distant relative’s son was both an infatuated fool and a lackey, which only confirmed such people existed.

Director Mo asked with a smile, “By the way, was what you said earlier true? That her husband will have an illegitimate child in the future?”

Luo Ning laughed, “Director Mo, when did you become so gossipy?”

Director Mo chuckled awkwardly, “I’m just curious.”

His relatives had ended up in a nursing home, having a son turned out worse than having none.

So he was curious about whether Mrs. Luo, who gave up her son for her husband, would face a rude awakening.

Luo Ning replied truthfully, “It’s not that he will have an illegitimate child, he already has one.”

So-called true love can be so ironic.

Director Mo laughed, “Serves her right!”

Everyone, having heard the whole story, also felt Mrs. Luo deserved it.

Director Mo dismissed everyone and then continued with the filming.

He had just taken a few steps when he seemed to remember something.

He turned back to Luo Ning to remind her, “By the way, someone burst in earlier to take photos. You’d better have someone find them and delete the photos, or they could completely take them out of context to smear you.”

Luo Ning naturally had thought about it too; she smiled indifferently, “No worries, I have ways to handle it.”

She was no saint; if she hadn’t reacted quickly just now, she might have been slapped.

Mrs. Luo and the people behind her wanted to ruin her reputation.

If Luo Ning didn’t retaliate, that wouldn’t be like her.

Director Mo looked at Luo Ning intently, recognizing that she was no pushover, “As long as you’re aware, that’s good.”

“Don’t worry, it won’t affect our drama,” Luo Ning assured him with a smile.

Director Mo, a clever man, commented, “Stirring up a little scandal might even be good; our drama could use some heat right now.”

Initially, he had wanted to find someone to delete the photos taken at the set, but now he felt that not deleting them might be better.

He had confidence in Luo Ning’s ability to create and then resolve issues.
