Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me! Chapter 45

Quinn Lockwood went to the talent agency the next day as if nothing had happened, much to Anna’s relief. She had originally thought Quinn would make a scene again, but she was unexpectedly calmer than before.

"I thought you wouldn’t come today."

Anna teased, walking over to Quinn in her bright red high heels.

Quinn lowered her gaze slightly, noticing the high heels on Anna’s feet.

It seemed that Anna was indeed in a good mood today, as she usually wore flats to accompany her to film sets, but now was leisurely wearing heels.

It showed just how much she had troubled the company before, keeping them so busy they couldn’t even pay attention to themselves. Thıs text ıs hosted at NoveI★Fire.net

Quinn sneered, "Why wouldn’t I come? Firstly, I haven’t terminated my contract with the company. Secondly, I have no scenes today. Thirdly, I want to see how the company is handling my botched press conference."

Thinking of yesterday’s press conference brought a flicker of anger to Quinn’s heart. If it weren’t for the company’s threat of a penalty fee, she wouldn’t have given up so easily.

"Alright, despite your countless reasons, you still came. The company has already taken care of yesterday’s matters for you, so you needn’t worry about them," Anna said with a satisfied smile, leaning casually against the desk with a sip of coffee, as if she had just won a battle.

She really just wanted Quinn to stay out of trouble, to save the company from any more headaches. She didn’t want to lose her job because of Quinn.

Now it made sense to Quinn why she hadn’t seen a trace of negative news about yesterday’s press conference.

Logically, if the press conference didn’t go smoothly, the media would have seized the opportunity, especially since it was broadcast live. When she was taken away, everyone was watching, and she always courted controversy, so it shouldn’t have been so quiet.

But now, she was really curious about how the company managed the aftermath and imagined it must have cost a lot to suppress such significant news.

"Since the company resolved such a big problem for me, I naturally don’t have to worry. It’s just a bit embarrassing for them to go to so much expense on my behalf."

Quinn casually brushed her hair aside, as strong-willed as ever.

She never showed her vulnerability to others, only to those she trusted.

Unfortunately, in a past life, she mistakenly trusted Ariana Lynch, sharing all her secrets, only to be used as a stepping stone for someone else.

This time, she wouldn’t trust anyone so easily.

Anna was quietly dealt a blow but didn’t show it, restrained by pride from arguing with Quinn as before.

After all, in the entertainment industry, agents and artists were a team, and she didn’t want to become a laughingstock.

But she wasn’t one to be trifled with; if other artists in the company saw this, even the newcomers might bully her.

Anna thought for a moment and leaned in close to Quinn with a wicked smile, "No matter what, you still lost."

Without the expected retort, Quinn calmly signed the attendance sheet and then left.

On the way back, she thought that Anna wasn’t wrong. She had indeed lost in this situation.

But she had lost to the company’s tactics, not to a person.

Back at the Sinclair Family home, Quinn started packing her bags. She was moving back to the Lowell Family.

Seeing her once again carrying two heavy suitcases, Elias Sinclair frowned, "What are you doing again?"

At his words, Quinn paused her movements, thought for a moment, then looked up at Elias and said earnestly, "I’m sorry the press conference didn’t happen, and the promises I made to you have fallen through."

Elias knew what promises Quinn was referring to, about her pledge to clear up everything at the press conference, including matters involving him.

But he never thought Quinn would apologize to him for something , especially not so sincerely.

He was momentarily stunned, even forgetting the task Cameron Grant had given him to ask Quinn who had kidnapped her the day before.

After waiting a moment without any response from Elias, Quinn continued, "Although the press conference didn’t happen, I’ve decided it’s best to put some distance between us to avoid unnecessary scandals. So I’ve decided to move out of the Sinclair home."

Speaking her mind felt liberating for Quinn, though carrying the memories of Savannah Lowell made this parting feel sorrowful.

Even though life at the Sinclair home hadn’t always been pleasant, there were happy times too, and she suddenly thought of Grandpa Sinclair.

He had gone abroad for a medical checkup recently, and if he came back and found her gone, he might be upset.

The thought brought a hint of guilt and reluctance to Quinn’s heart; Grandpa Sinclair was probably the only one in the Sinclair family who treated her well, yet she was leaving without seeing him one last time.

After a while, Elias finally said one word slowly.

In the past, he would have sneered, dismissing her as acting.

But just now, with Quinn’s sincere gaze upon him, he found her words surprisingly irrefutable, leaving him momentarily speechless.

Unexpectedly, Elias didn’t mock her, and Quinn smiled slightly, then left without looking back, dragging her suitcase behind her.

Elias watched Quinn’s departing figure, a complexity in his eyes that no one could understand.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell were quite surprised by Quinn’s sudden return, worried that their daughter had suffered some grievance.

"Savannah, what’s wrong?"

Mrs. Lowell asked, pointing at Quinn’s two suitcases.

"Dad, Mom, Elias Sinclair and I don’t have any feelings for each other anymore. I’ve moved out of the Sinclair home, and I’ll be staying here from now on," Quinn said happily, looking at Mr. and Mrs. Lowell.

She was finally free from having to see Elias’s icy face every day and couldn’t be happier.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell exchanged looks, shaking their heads.

This child had loved Elias Sinclair deeply since she was young; how could she let go so easily? Whenever she’d felt wronged before, she always ran back home, but it was just a place to sulk.

Every time the Sinclair family came to fetch her, she’d eagerly go back with them, so this was probably the same case again.

Over time, they had no expectations. She’d come back after a little fit anyway, so they didn’t act too pleased.

"Alright. Since you’re back, stay for now," Mrs. Lowell said with a smile, asking the housekeeper to prepare Savannah’s old room, knowing they’d have her for a few days.

Their attitude made Quinn feel strange. Why did they say she’d stay ’for now’? She didn’t plan to return to the Sinclair home, but she didn’t dwell on it too much.
