Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes Chapter 83

Watching the scene unfold, Pekara’s face was brimming with disappointment; she puffed up her rosy cheeks in disgruntlement and, with a dismissive wave of her hand, opened another metal cabinet.

Unlike the first cabinet, the second one contained only a horizontal shelf, on which lay a stone tablet inscribed with densely packed, bizarre symbols.

The tablet was made from an ancient type of black gneiss. Its corners were slightly damaged, showing distinctive signs of weathering.

The symbols written on the tablet did not correspond to any language known to the trio — they had sharp turns and deep angles, creating an odd and discordant sense.

These characters somewhat resembled the Ancient Dragon Language that Anvis had studied, but they were clearly different.

However, although the tablet appeared very old and mysterious, it did not exhibit any magic fluctuations and seemed to be just an ordinary cultural relic excavated from some ancient ruins.

Pekara, who had been momentarily excited by the appearance of the tablet, let her face fall once again after sensing this.

"What a pity — hidden so secretly, within a chamber made from demon-repelling metal, I was hoping there would be some high-rank magic artifacts concealed within."

Pekara pinched her magic wand in her hand and muttered softly, dissatisfied with the gap between her expectations and reality.

"Pekara, our ultimate goal is to learn, isn’t it? In some ways, this tablet might be a greater find than high-rank magic equipment," Anvis carefully examined the tablet in front of him, smiled gently, and consoled the girl.

Indeed, to the spiritual power perception, this was nothing more than an ordinary relic tablet of ancient origin with nothing unusual about it.

But this very normalcy was the biggest issue.

Theoretically, since the moment Claire entered that house and subsequently discovered the underground passage due to the collapse, her unique trait had begun to manifest.

Yet, until they entered the chamber, apart from a slight obstacle posed by the demon-repelling metal walls, they hadn’t encountered any difficulties worthy of note.

This was in complete contradiction to her trait.

Therefore, even though Anvis appeared to be doing nothing, he had already secretly investigated everything in the room for safety.

Everything else seemed normal; the most suspicious object in the entire chamber was the tablet before them.

"You’re right, Anvis. Besides, we’re not exactly without gain; those ancient coins are treasure enough!" Pekara nodded vigorously, her cute smile returning to her face.

"Pekara, Anvis, there seems to be something off about this tablet—" Claire suddenly spoke up, her gaze fixed on the dense, strange symbols on the tablet, her delicate brows gradually furrowing.

"Did you find something, Senior Claire?"

Hearing the girl’s voice laden with unusual gravity, Anvis felt a stir in his heart.

"Look at these texts, do they... seem to be moving?" Claire spoke haltingly and vaguely as if uncertain.

Anvis was taken aback for a moment, then turned his head back again to closely examine the fine, bizarre symbols.

Pekara’s attention was also drawn by Claire’s words, and she stared intently at the ancient stone tablet as well.

Gradually, Anvis’s mind began to drift, and everything around him seemed to blur into an illusion.

"It seems, indeed they are moving..." Pekara whispered after an unknown stretch of time.

In Anvis’s ears, her voice was faint, as if coming from a distant place.

Soon, Anvis could no longer notice these details. In his perception, the soft silver radiance from the surrounding walls dimmed bit by bit.

The stone tablet inside the cabinet became eerily clear in his eyes, as the texts on the black phyllite began to creep and swell in a bizarre manner. The grooves of the symbols and lines became incomprehensibly deep, like bottomless abysses.

Under Anvis’s gaze, those profound text engravings kept widening and growing, gradually occupying all his perception, with the hidden endless darkness causing him to feel dizzy and disoriented.

However, within this darkness, he glimpsed certain fragments that did not belong to this time and space, in a vague daze.

They reflected broken corners of the real world, moving past Anvis at a frightening speed.

Ancient cities, twisted skies, steaming oceans, desolate plains...

The scattered fragments appeared like bubbles emerging from the dark deep sea, ephemeral and insubstantial, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

As the endless darkness deepened, the passing fragments gradually began to change, becoming clearer and more solid.

Finally, Anvis saw it—

A fragment immensely huge, distinct from the fleeting shadows, coming straight at him!

Anvis opened his eyes.

In front of him lay the stone tablet, unchanged from before, with all the texts restored to normal as if it had become a common stone slab again.

Anvis frowned slightly, intending to check on the status of the other two.

But as he was about to move, Anvis immediately sensed something was wrong—

He couldn’t turn his head!

He tried to sense his body, the Magic Ornaments, the family Talisman, and other items, but there was no response.

Anvis frowned again in his mind, starting to contemplate the possible reasons for his abnormal state and the solutions.

At this moment, a hand reached over, closed the cabinet door, and cut off Anvis’s view from the stone tablet.

The hand was slender, delicate, and fair, with two slender Magic Rings on the index and ring fingers, one silver and one blue, featuring the unique elegant and extravagant design style of the High Elves.

The material of the sleeve above the wrist was a kind of fine silk, and Anvis, after a careful look, recognized the unique luster of this silk, similar to a kind of anciently crafted Elf Silk.

From the perspective, it was his hand, yet it wasn’t his hand—

There was no doubt about it now, although he couldn’t see, Anvis had confirmed his current situation.

His consciousness was not in his original body but was in a state similar to an observer’s perspective.

Then, whose perspective was this, and what was their Identity? And how did they enter this secret chamber?

While Anvis pondered these questions, the original owner of the perspective seemed to have finished their business, extinguished the lighting Magic Candlestick, and left the secret chamber.

With the movement of the perspective when turning around, Anvis noticed that the positioning Array in the corner was lit.

A translucent dodecahedron crystal emitting a faint blue Radiance was embedded in the core of the Array, providing energy for teleportation positioning.

Noticing these details, Anvis suddenly had a vague speculation about the current situation.

The scene at present was likely to be a fragment from Ancient Times. Just uncertain how the other two fared, and whether they too were watching this "documentary."
