Fang Xinxin watched the employee she had just spoken to, approach the cashier to whisper into her ear. The cashier seemed to be astonished.
Fang Xinxin immediately walked upto the counter to divert Long Shuhai’s attention. “Second uncle, are you sure you’re buying five sets of premium outfits? It seems like a bit much. The clothes here must be very expensive.”
Long Shuhai assumed that the dumb wench was referring to the imitation goods which worth slightly more than a hundred dollars. She was likely the only person who was fooled this easily.
He thumped his chest and responded generously. “It’s not too much. Even if it’s expensive, you are worth it!”
The cashier employee swiped Long Shuhai’s card and spoke up respectfully. “Sir, please key in your pin number.”
Long Shuhai did so without any hesitation.
When the receipt was printed out from the machine, he was worried that Fang Xinxin would notice the amount written on it. Hence, he intentionally kept a conversation going between them and folded the receipt discreetly. He then quickly signed his name under the blank space.
Fang Xinxin naturally understood his intentions. However, his hypocritical actions would only come back to bite him later. “Second uncle, you’re so generous.”
“You’re my beloved niece ah, how could I not be generous? I’ve always doted on you the most.” Although Long Shuhai said so, in his heart, he mocked Fang Xinxin for being an idiot. He had only played a small trick and she actually believed the clothes were made by a luxury, italian brand.
Fang Xinxin asked him coyly. “Then, do you dote on my second sister as well?”
“I do. I love both of you very much.” Long Shuhai glanced at Fang Manxue, who was being led by a different employee to look at the clothes, with genuine love in his eyes.
“In that case, why don’t you buy five ‘more’ premium outfits, but this time for Fang Manxue?”
Long Shuhai was unwilling to part with even a single cent for Fang Xinxin. However, when it came to Fang Manxue, he had no issues. He did not pay attention to the word ‘more.’ “If anything has caught your second sister’s eye, she can directly use my card.”
Fang Xinxin smiled. “Let me give the five outfits I bought earlier to her. Else, it would be too much for you.”
“There’s no need to give them to her… She’ll buy her own clothes separately.” Long Shuhai waved his hand generously.
Those clothes were a pile of rubbish worth a hundred dollars. How could they possibly suit Manxue?
Manxue was set to become the Commander’s wife. She needed to wear the best. “Besides, your size is too large. Those clothes would not be suitable for her.”
“I’m referring to the clothes we just bought. These won’t fit me.” Fang Xinxin corrected him.
Long Shuhai was confused.
The employee returned his card to him along with a receipt. “Sir, here is your card and receipt. Please keep them well.”
Long Shuhai found his actions to be strange. He had left the clothes here temporarily and made a show of bringing Fang Xinxin over so she would assume that they were bought from this store. He had already given Miss Wang two hundred dollars for the matter. Why would there be any receipts?
After keeping the card away, Long Shuhai carelessly scanned the receipt. Right at that moment, his eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. “Three… three hundred thousand dollars!”
“Yes, sir. The premium outfits you bought earlier sum up to three hundred and eighty thousand dollars.” The employee smiled as she explained. “I’ve given you a discount and only charged you three hundred thousand dollars.”
“What!” Long Shuhai turned pale from shock. “Have you made a mistake? I didn’t buy any premium outfits. I didn’t even look at the clothes from your store. How could I have spent so much money?”
“This lady here chose the clothes.” The employee gestured toward Fang Xinxin.
“Don’t you remember? Before paying, she even asked if you were sure that you wanted these five sets of premium outfits. She even reminded you that the clothes here are expensive. You were the one who said that she was worth it.”
