"Are you Su Hongyan? I’m older than you and your actual aunt, so you can’t marry your aunt, okay?" Xu Nianhua held Su Hongyan, brushing his hair. He looked just like a little girl, so pretty.
"Oh." Su Hongyan’s little face immediately dimmed, but his big round eyes still looked at Xu Nianhua, looking incredibly adorable.
At dinner, Su Hongyan insisted on sitting next to Xu Nianhua.
"Nianhua, what do you think? Isn’t my niece adorable?" Su Xi smiled as he looked at Xu Nianhua.
Xu Nianhua stealthily observed Su Hongyan, who was eating with a spoon; from every angle, he looked like a little girl.
After Su Xi’s family left, Xu Nianhua finally asked, "Where is Xiaoyan’s mom?"

Just as Jiang Wanru finished speaking, the phone rang; it was Su Yan calling.
Every ten days, Su Yan would call home to first check on his mother Jiang Wanru’s health, ensuring she was safe before discussing other matters, mostly talking about things overseas. Then, he’d ask about his father, older brother, and Little Hong’en.
Knowing Little Hong’en was becoming more cheerful, Su Yan was grateful to Xu Nianhua and also felt fortunate that he saved her back then.
One reason was for Pei Yicheng’s sake, and the other was to build good karma for his mother. His mother’s health wasn’t great, and neither he nor his older brother could always be there for her. Maybe, by saving Xu Nianhua, she could save their mom one day?

The phone in Su Yan’s hand suddenly dropped to the ground.
"Your second brother must be so shocked he couldn’t hold the phone steady." Jiang Wanru explained to Xu Nianhua beside her, and sure enough, after a moment of static, Su Yan’s excited voice came through: "Mom, you must be mistaken, right? Hasn’t my sister been gone for a long time? How could Nianhua be my sister? My real sister?"
Even over the phone, Xu Nianhua could sense Su Yan’s excitement and the surprise in his voice.
Xu Nianhua felt a bit regretful that she didn’t get to personally thank Su Yan because she was unconscious at the time.
