Jiang Wanru has been expecting Xu Nianhua to come home. She made shrimp today, which Nianhua loves, and the shrimp are big today, so surely Nianhua will like them.

"Mom, what are you saying?" Su Xi hears that Xu Nianhua isn’t home yet, glances outside at the darkening sky, furrows her brows, and asks, "Nianhua should have come home on time today, it’s unlikely, she should have been home already."
"Are you sure Nianhua went home?" Fei Meishu, hearing this, can’t stay seated, asking repeatedly.
Su Xi doesn’t have the mind to practice the piano anymore. She said, "Mom, I’ll go to the school and ask around. Maybe she was delayed by classmates."
