"You two, are you boyfriend and girlfriend?" Amos was somewhat surprised, but also felt it was to be expected.
During the day, Pei Yicheng took extra care of Xu Nianhua.

Xu Nianhua propped her chin with one hand and held her face with the other, muttering to herself, "Yicheng wouldn’t have been provoked by Amos, making a rash move in haste, would he?"
It must be, perhaps they had met too frequently recently, causing such a misperception.
Having reassured herself, Xu Nianhua climbed up contentedly to continue wrestling with her homework.
