"Sure." Xu Nianhua’s attention was indeed entirely focused on the design drawings.
Pei Yicheng, standing by her side, explained his design concept to her. He didn’t refrain from discussing it with her just because she wasn’t a design student. Instead, he elaborated in simple and understandable terms, making sure to explain professional jargon to her whenever it came up.
Having seen so many shopping malls in her next life, Xu Nianhua also thought Pei Yicheng’s ideas were particularly good and she offered several of her own suggestions.
"Nianhua, you really are my lucky star!"
With her prompts, Pei Yicheng instantly felt that the problem that had been troubling him was resolved.
"I, I didn’t do much." Xu Nianhua turned embarrassed by Pei Yicheng’s candid words. It was he, in fact, who was her lucky star.
Seizing this burst of inspiration, Pei Yicheng continued to sketch on the design drawings, and after some revisions, his confidence immediately grew.
Xu Nianhua sat beside him, occasionally glancing at Pei Yicheng’s designs. The office was tranquil and beautiful.
It wasn’t until Ling Dong came that Xu Nianhua realized Pei Yicheng was not only responsible for designing architectural drafts but was also overseeing the construction of Xiyue Hotel, as well as managing Liunian Company.
Since the launch of the hand cream and perfume, they had been extremely popular. Even if Pei Yicheng didn’t need to be at the factory daily, he still had to handle major decisions when they arose.
Although Pei Yicheng was still a student about to graduate, Xu Nianhua had always thought she was hardworking enough. Yet, compared to him, she suddenly felt that her life was much easier.
"Yicheng, are you doing the work of two or even three people?" Xu Nianhua couldn’t help but remind him during a lull.
"Are you saying I’m that capable?" Pei Yicheng’s lips curved upwards. Having Xu Nianhua by his side, whenever he occasionally looked up and saw her flipping through a book, his mood improved even further.
Xu Nianhua grumbled, "I’m trying to tell you not to overwork yourself, be careful not to break down."
"Don’t worry, I’m waiting to marry you and bring you home. I definitely won’t break down." Pei Yicheng patted his chest and clenched his fist, showing off the muscles on his arms.
Was that what she meant?
In the evening, Pei Yicheng took her to a restaurant for dinner and then drove her home.
"You should go back, or you’ll be late and the dorm will turn off the lights." Xu Nianhua stepped out of the car and pushed the door open. She had enjoyed the day very much. She didn’t know what dating was like for others, but to her, it felt like bathing in a jar of honey.
"There are still ten minutes left."
Pei Yicheng held her hand, loving the smooth touch, and he said, "Summer vacation is coming soon, when are you going back?"
Today’s meeting was too brief. He had been busy with work all afternoon and hadn’t had time to chat properly.
"After the vacation," Xu Nianhua playfully said. She hadn’t yet told Pei Yicheng about her plan to delay going home. She would surprise him when the time came and said deliberately, "My parents are looking forward to me coming home early.
