"Then you don’t have to get married in this lifetime," Xu Nianhua said quietly.
Pei Yining’s eyes widened as she looked at her.
Xu Nianhua explained, "China is so big, you want to capture all the beautiful scenery of the motherland. By the time you’re done, you might be seventy or eighty years old. What would you get married for then?"
She was exaggerating, exaggerating!
"Brother, can you please talk some sense into Nianhua?" Pei Yining said as she saw Pei Yicheng walking into the room. She quickly tattled, looking at Pei Yicheng with a face full of grievance.
"Nianhua is right; if you really want to capture all the scenic beauties of our country, you won’t have time to get married in this lifetime," Pei Yicheng replied without hesitation.

"Favoring the lover over the sister!" Pei Yining’s face showed even more grievance. She watched as Pei Yicheng went to the kitchen to help and simply turned around and walked out of the kitchen, "out of sight, out of mind."
"Yining might be angry," Xu Nianhua said as she fried the shrimp. She reminded Pei Yicheng to go and pacify his sister.
Pei Yicheng stood there, motionless, and said, "No worries, she doesn’t get angry that easily. Besides, you’re right, she really can’t finish capturing all the beautiful views in a lifetime."
"That’s true, but you’re taking my side, and it might make her feel uncomfortable," Xu Nianhua reminded him.
Pei Yicheng pursed his lips and said, "You’re going to be my wife in the future, if I don’t stand by you, who will I stand by?"
"She’s your sister, your own sister," Xu Nianhua said.
"And you are still going to be my dear wife," Pei Yicheng replied seriously.
She’d better not talk at all. Discussing this with him was just making her angry. She changed the subject, "Brother Cheng, dinner will be ready soon. It’s hot in the kitchen. Why don’t you go outside for some fresh air?"
"I’ll help you out," Pei Yicheng insisted on helping Xu Nianhua, passing dishes, fetching seasonings and the like. After dinner was ready, he directly washed the dishes and also cleaned the kitchen.
Xu Nianhua watched the busy figure in the kitchen and felt inexplicably at peace.
"Did you go to Professor Fei’s today? How did it feel? Are the classmates easy to get along with?" Although Pei Yicheng was busy every day, he still kept up with Xu Nianhua’s schedule.
"They’re pretty easy to get along with. All three classmates are juniors. Fang Yuan, with long hair, is lively and cheerful. Yao Xinping, with short hair, is very serious and dedicated to studying. Zhuo Xiaolin, the one who wears glasses, speaks little but does a lot."
Xu Nianhua recounted one by one and also shared a few small events that happened today. She gossiped, "If I’m not mistaken, Zhuo Xiaolin definitely likes Fang Yuan."
"I know Fang Yuan." Pei Yining, who had been sulking for the first half of the day, found solace in Xu Nianhua’s cooking and immediately felt balanced in her heart. It didn’t matter if her brother didn’t treat her like a real sister, as long as her future sister-in-law did! How wonderful her future sister-in-law was, making her favorite dishes. As she listened to her brother and Xu Nianhua’s conversation and heard about someone she knew, she immediately chimed in, "I once took photos of her. She is beautiful and famous in the French department as a talented woman."
"Right." Xu Nianhua nodded in agreement, acknowledging that Fang Yuan was indeed beautiful.
"If you guys need to move around a lot, this weather might cause heatstroke, right?" Pei Yicheng thought quietly about the recent high temperatures. It was fine inside the house, but it would be too sunny outside.
"I’ll just wear a hat and a long-sleeved shirt then," Xu Nianhua said nonchalantly.
