"My goodness, Nianhua, why do I feel like I’m the one who just started learning French six months ago!"
Fang Yuan felt discouraged. After half a day, she thought that her once-prideful French seemed like baby talk, and she still had great difficulty communicating with Ruth.
"I mostly speak English when chatting with Lillian," Xu Nianhua said, touching his nose sheepishly.
"But you still managed to have a conversation!"
Fang Yuan looked at Xu Nianhua with admiration. She had known Xu Nianhua was good at English, but only when she actually saw him chatting with Lillian in English did she realize just how good he was—it was far from just a little!
His spoken English was very fluent, just like a native speaker; no wonder he managed the studio well!
It was just like her, who had studied French for three years and could translate things for people. Ordinary correspondence was not a problem, but once it involved some specialized fields, she began to realize her knowledge was insufficient.
"We haven’t even talked about the place we’re going to yet, so don’t worry. Tomorrow, I will definitely need to ask for your advice," Xu Nianhua said modestly.
Xu Nianhua and the other three gathered, taking the opportunity to chat with Professor Fei about their experiences of the day.
Lillian and her group intended to rest early today. They spent most of the half-day familiarizing themselves with the surroundings, not playing much of a role. Even after lunch, the four of them had nothing to do and sat together, chatting with each other.

Zhuo Xiaolin and Yao Xinping, responsible for the three male guests, had a smooth experience. The three men rested as soon as they got in the car and didn’t talk much. Upon reaching their accommodation, they weren’t very curious, and asked only normal questions, which Zhuo Xiaolin and Yao Xinping could handle perfectly.
"How was it, really talking to them? Did you feel like your knowledge was insufficient?" Professor Fei approached as they were chatting in the living room.
"Yes, yes!" Fang Yuan nodded repeatedly, praising Xu Nianhua even further in her response.
Professor Fei looked at them with admiration and said sternly, "Nianhua, when you really can’t manage it, you can switch to English, but remember, this time we are here to practice French."
"I understand, Professor Fei," Xu Nianhua accepted humbly, also feeling like she had taken a shortcut today.
"Alright, you’re all tired today, and there probably won’t be much happening this afternoon. Come back tomorrow morning." Professor Fei added, "You all know how to get here, right?"
Xu Nianhua and the others nodded repeatedly, indicating their understanding.
"Nianhua, you’re finally back." Pei Yining had been eagerly awaiting Xu Nianhua’s return all morning. Lying in the living room, napping when she heard some noise, she asked curiously, "So you’ve finished for the day? How were they? Are they pretty? Are their eyes really blue? Is their hair really blonde?"
Pei Yining had seen foreigners before, but she was still curious.
"Yes, truly blue eyes and blonde hair, and the Lillian I met today looks just like a doll," Xu Nianhua praised, confirming that Lillian’s beauty was indeed delicate like a doll’s. "You don’t know, those azure eyes are just so beautiful!"
"Wow, can I come with you tomorrow?" Pei Yining said eagerly, her eyes twinkling as she added, "I can take pictures. You see, I take such lovely photos, I could take photos for them."
