"Little sister, Mom is really good to you, making nutritious soup every day."
On the train, Xu Nian’an teasingly looked at her.
Xu Nianhua glared at him and said irritably, "Second brother, if you want to laugh, just laugh. Have I gained weight? If it were you drinking this every day, you’d have run away by now."
Xu Nianhua pinched her slightly rounder waist, thankfully she had a small frame and used to be thin, otherwise, she would’ve been unrecognizably chubby!
Xu Nian’an laughed heartily. Luckily, it was just the two of them in the train compartment at the moment. He said, "Little sister, you’re just not appreciating your blessings. Think about the past, when at home, having a sip of meat soup once a year was a rare treat!"
"Isn’t that true." Xu Nianhua couldn’t help remembering the hard times before. Looking back now, although it was tough, as long as the family was together, wasn’t that a kind of happiness?
All the way to Ningbei, Pei Yicheng, who had returned to Ningbei a few days earlier, specially came to pick them up. He asked, "Shall we go directly to my house? Aunt Jin has already prepared lunch."
"That’s very kind of you."
After spending the whole night on the train, Xu Nian’an was a bit tired. He could still hold on, but his little sister was delicate and needed a proper rest.
Pei Yining ran out immediately upon hearing the car, and excitedly hugged Xu Nianhua, saying, "Nianhua, you seem to have gained weight!"
Xu Nianhua silently thought to herself: Can we not mention this?
"You seem to have gotten darker."
Xu Nianhua looked at Pei Yining. Originally, Pei Yining wasn’t particularly fair-skinned, but neither was she particularly tan. Now, compared to when they parted for summer vacation, Yining was much darker!
"Nianhua, can you not talk about how dark I’ve gotten?" Pei Yining’s face scrunched up. She had been worried about her tan for a while. Despite wearing a hat during the field trip where many photos were taken, she still ended up darker.
"Then can you not talk about how I’ve gained weight?" Xu Nianhua replied with a smile.
Pei Yining and Xu Nianhua exchanged a glance and suddenly laughed, happily heading back into the house.
Xu Nian’an and Pei Yicheng carried the fully packed luggage. Xu Nian’an said, "Yicheng, women’s thinking seems a bit off, doesn’t it?"
Weren’t they supposed to start arguing just now?
Pei Yicheng shrugged, indicating he was unsure too.
Pei Yining, who had entered the house, ran out again, her eyes on the blue cloth bag in Xu Nian’an’s hand. She hurried over, smiling widely, and said, "Second Brother Xu, let me take it!"

Xu Nian’an watched her grab the blue bag and quickly reminded her, "Be careful with it."
It was mostly filled with food.
"Don’t worry, it’s fine."
Pei Yining ran into the house as she spoke loudly. She hadn’t even opened the bag yet but could already smell the aroma inside.
Xu Nianhua had just had some water. Upon seeing the blue bag, she opened it. Inside were crispy pork, dried bamboo shoots, Dried Bayberry, and beef jerky, all smelling delicious.
"Here, this is yours!" Xu Nianhua handed one portion to Pei Yining and said, "The rest is for Jiayi and the others."
"Auntie is so thoughtful." Pei Yining’s favorite was the crispy pork, fried to a crispy crunch, one bite and it was so delicious.
Pei Yining took a bite and joyfully said, "This is the taste."
