As soon as the parcel was unwrapped, Zhao Xin’s eyes lit up, and he jumped up, "Captain, snacks!"
Meng Xinian glanced at him and asked indifferently, "Are those also for me?"
Zhao Xin immediately deflated, "Captain, you can’t be so stingy..."

Then there was the other jar, the contents of which were completely unidentifiable — they just looked fried, and upon opening the jar, fragrance filled the room.
Zhao Xin no longer cared about the chestnuts, his eyes lit up as he stared at the two jars.
"Look at you, so little self-control."
Meng Xinian laughed and scolded him, telling him to fetch two pairs of chopsticks.
Zhao Xin ran quickly, and soon returned with the chopsticks. Meng Xinian picked up a strand of shredded meat, and upon tasting it, he exclaimed in surprise, "Especially tasty!"
"Captain, let me try, let me try!"
Zhao Xin grabbed the jar, extended his chopsticks, and fiercely picked up a large amount, much to Meng Xinian’s chagrin. In the past, he was not stingy at all!
Why did he feel pained seeing Zhao Xin eat these things now?
"So tasty! What kind of meat is this? It’s like chicken, but chicken isn’t this fragrant!" Zhao Xin, with his cheeks stuffed, couldn’t help but reach for more with his chopsticks.
"That’s enough, Zhao Erleng, can’t you eat more gracefully?"
While chiding him, Meng Xinian picked up fried mushrooms with his chopsticks and was immediately conquered by the fresh, savory taste.
Where did Chiang Xiao get these things from?
Meng Xinian couldn’t help but rummage through the protective newspapers around the glass jars and found an envelope. This letter was much thicker than the last.
He thought it contained several pages of letter, but upon opening it, there was only one page, with just one line of text.
"Meng Xinian, I made these myself. Tasty, right?"
The rest were several small drawings.
Unfolding the drawings, the first depicted a slope with Chingching cascading down, and beside it, a little girl with a backpack climbing upwards.
At the sight of the girl’s ponytail and the shirt, Meng Xinian recognized that the drawing depicted Chiang Xiao.
The second painting showed a large grassy area with many adorable mushrooms, and Chiang Xiaoxiao, with her backpack, was bending down to pick a red mushroom.
The third painting displayed two tall chestnut trees with chestnuts strewn underneath, and Chiang Xiaoxiao held up a bunch of fresh chestnuts to the viewer.
In the first two she was depicted from the back and side, only this one showed her face.
Meng Xinian had never seen this style of painting before. It was obviously Chiang Xiao, yet she was depicted like a doll with big eyes and a small mouth, incredibly mischievous and adorable.
It made his hands itch, wanting to reach into the painting to pinch her cheeks.
