Meng Xinian had just put away his things when he turned around and saw her puffing up angrily, and immediately realized he had said something wrong. His thin lips pursed tightly, he walked over to her, extended his index finger, and gently poked her puffed cheek, saying with amusement, "That’s not what I meant, Little Frog."
She really did puff up like a little frog.
He was just worried that her hands might be sore or tired, how could he not want her to come over?
It was just too surprising, he had not at all expected her to appear before him so unexpectedly.
Thinking back on that moment, he couldn’t help feeling a little embarrassed.
However, "How did you grow so tall?" he asked, gesturing with his hand above her head.
She had grown so quickly, and moreover, she had clearly put on weight, looking like a beautiful young girl who was too captivating to take your eyes off, as opposed to her previously malnourished appearance.
Chiang Xiao took a step back, not quite used to being so close to him, feeling the heat emanating from his body as if it were baking her.
"That’s right, you’ve eaten quite a bit of meat, I definitely wouldn’t mistreat myself when I’m at home," she said, taking another glance around his dorm.
As a Supervisor Guard, his dormitory had absolutely no fancy items.
It was just a simple desk, a metal-frame bed, a wardrobe, and a window without curtains, letting the bright sunshine pour in, taking in everything at a glance.
By the door were two pairs of shoes, one pair looking clean, the other covered in mud.
A little further in, there was a wooden door that seemed to lead to the bathroom.
"Meng Xinian, do you not have a kitchen here?"
"I do, come take a look." Meng Xinian led her towards the wooden door, and upon opening it, they found a very small kitchen next to the left hand door, which led to the bathroom.
Although the space was not large, it was a sparrow that, despite its small size, had all its vital organs. Plus, it was very neat and clean.
The blanket was indeed like tofu cubes, with clear edges and corners.
"Aren’t you living in a communal dormitory?" Chiang Xiao asked.
Meng Xinian pulled out a chair for her to sit on, went to the table, picked up an enamel cup, and poured her a glass of water, handing it over. "My cup, you don’t mind, do you?"
Chiang Xiao’s outstretched hand suddenly stiffened.
Meng Xinian immediately said, "It’s washed."
If it’s washed, then it’s washed, why insist on emphasizing that it’s his cup?
Wouldn’t she know? In his dormitory, could there possibly be someone else’s cup?
It’s really too much.
Meng Xinian raised an eyebrow, grabbed her hand, and stuffed the cup into it, "Drink up, are you really going to make a fuss over it?"
"Do you serve water in this cup to anyone who visits?"
"What do you think? Who else gets treated like you do?" Meng Xinian couldn’t help but poke her cheek again with his finger.
Pale and pink, smooth and soft to the touch, it was really nice.
This girl really did change so much in the short time they had been apart.
Chiang Xiao turned her head away and gave him a glare, "Could you not be so touchy-feely?"
The more she said, the more energized Meng Xinian became, and went as far as grabbing and pinching her cheek.
"Just a little girl, and you want to talk about not having intimate contact between men and women?" he teased.
Chiang Xiao, speechless, puffed up her cheeks again.
Meng Xinian immediately laughed, "Little Frog."
"Have you eaten yet? I’ll take you out to eat, go to a big restaurant in the city, how about that?" he asked.
Chiang Xiao, "I thought you were going to take me to your alliance team’s cafeteria."
"The cafeteria food here is mediocre."
Normally he thought the food was actually okay, but once he compared it to the food Chiang Xiao cooked, he felt like the cafeteria served pig slop.
