Then, her expression became identical to He Jin’s.
Chiang Xiao understood when she saw their expressions.
Because the last batch of treats turned out well, Ge Dejun and the others had the same expressions when they first tasted them, and then they would start fighting over them.
As expected, once He Jin came to his senses, he barely chewed the pastry before trying to swallow it, his hand already reaching for the box.
But as fast as he was, Wu Xiayue’s reaction was not slow either. She immediately turned and ran a few steps, grabbed another piece of pastry and stuffed it into her mouth, her cheeks puffing as she chewed, and turned to glare at He Jin, "This is what I bought, why are you eating mine?"
"I gave it to you in the first place, that box of pastries should have been mine, hand them over, two pieces each would be just right!" He Jin lunged toward her.
Wu Xiayue immediately turned and ran.
"No way, no way, I’ll eat them myself! There’s only so few pieces!"
"Please, Xiayue, give me another piece!"
"I won’t give you any!"
Chiang Xiao watched speechlessly as these two chased each other around the yard like big kids, all for a piece of pastry. They must be fated adversaries, right?
He Jin did seem rather childish when he was around Wu Xiayue.
She raised her voice, "Brother He, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now."
She still wanted to go find a place to sell some meat to get some money.
However, before He Jin could reply, Wu Xiayue already called out, "Don’t go yet! Wait for me!"
She quickly stuffed the remaining piece of pastry into her mouth, then waved the empty box at He Jin with a triumphant puff of her cheeks.
The last two pieces were not matcha, but honey-flavored. She had already tasted the sweetness of the honey. It was different from the honey she had tasted before; the sweetness in this pastry was just right, and it was especially clean, not cloying at all.
In no time, she finished off all three pieces, and couldn’t help but glare at He Jin, as if he was a particularly shameless bandit for eating one of her pieces.
Licking her lips, Wu Xiayue felt utterly unsatisfied, as though there was an endless aftertaste.
She felt she could totally forgo a main meal and eat ten pieces of such pastries in a row!
Four pieces were simply not enough!
"What’s your name?" Wu Xiayue ran back to Chiang Xiao.
"Chiang Xiao, I want to buy more of these pastries!"
Chiang Xiao hesitated for a moment as she looked at her, thinking that Wu Xiayue’s family must be quite well-off. Such expensive pastries, and she didn’t even bat an eye after gobbling down three pieces, now she wants to buy more?
"I only brought one box this time, you can’t buy any more now."
This box was leftover from the few boxes she had prepared for Meng Xinian last time, and because there weren’t many leftovers, she made a mixed box.
Wu Xiayue was visibly disappointed. She swallowed her saliva, still relishing the taste, her mouth still savoring a distinct sweetness.
"Do you have any next Tuesday?" Wu Xiayue hurriedly said, "It’s my grandpa’s 60th birthday, and I was wondering what to get him. Now I know, I’ll get him these!"
"Pastries as a gift?" Chiang Xiao raised an eyebrow.
He Jin commented from the side, "That’s actually a good idea. Your grandpa really doesn’t lack anything right now, loves to eat, and I guess nothing would please him more than these pastries."
"You’re the one who loves to eat!" Wu Xiayue glanced sideways at him, adding, "He Jin, it’s your fault, you also ate one of my pastries, you’re paying half for the birthday gift! I want to buy eight boxes!"
Chiang Xiao was stunned.

This was the first time she had sold her pastries!
Chiang Xiao initially didn’t quite like Wu Xiayue, but now to her, Wu Xiayue had clearly become a major customer, and all of Xiayue’s brattiness and pride seemed no issue at all.
