Old Tang snorted and said, "What do you mean your granddaughter-in-law? Not even the beginnings of one stroke of a character have been drawn yet. I find I get along quite well with Xiao Chiang, and she’s about the same age as Tang Qing. Why not let your grandson step aside and not tear apart a truly good match?"

Having such a grandfather really was tiring for him.

Fearing they’d appear too refined and the pastries would get stolen by others, they each stuffed them in their mouths in one bite, leaving almost none behind.
"They’re truly delectable!" Old Tang told Meng Xinian, "I’ve never had such delicious pastries before. Did Xiao Chiang really make these?"
"Xiao Chiang helped, but the main chefs must have been her grandparents." Meng Xinian hadn’t had the chance to try them himself and didn’t know they had been snapped up in an instant.
