Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant Chapter 295

Yunyi, upon hearing his words, showed surprise in her eyes. "Old Master, are you willing to teach me?"

Yuan Yuxun had been sent to this place for two reasons. First, someone had set their sights on the Yuan family’s ancestral prescriptions and resorted to despicable tactics behind the scenes. Second, he had been framed and reported by his own student.

Yuan Yuxun understood why Yunyi would ask him that. "The kindness you’ve shown to my grandchild and me cannot be repaid. Now, the only thing I can offer is this medical skill." Upon finishing, he sighed heavily, possibly reflecting upon past experiences.

Naturally, Yunyi wouldn’t refuse. "Good, I’ll come to seek your guidance whenever I have time."

In the world of Western medicine, Yuan Yuxun was an authority on neurology and cardiology; the surgeries he performed rarely failed. It was just a pity that such a person had been framed and sent here to waste his years.

But this was also good; it meant her own medical skills would be even more reputable in the future.

Thinking of the matter she had asked Huo Jingrui to investigate, she returned the favor, saying, "I have also asked someone else to look into the person behind Qiao Yuxiang."

Upon hearing this, Yuan Yuxun expressed his gratitude. "Thank you. Be sure to prioritize your own safety."

Yunyi didn’t stay long. After playing with Yuan Zining for a while, she left, treading through the snow.

After all, there was a little one waiting for her in the infirmary; she couldn’t return too late.

Once home, she changed into a fresh set of clothes and socks.

Just as she was about to go to the infirmary out front, she thought of Guo Anyi’s gaze of dependence. She momentarily entered the space, found a piece of scrap wood she had gotten from Carpenter Yin, applied her Inner Strength, and carved a little horse.

Unfortunately, without any sandpaper, she had only roughly smoothed it before taking it out of the space.

By the time she arrived, Guo Anyi was sitting on the hospital bed, gazing eagerly at the doorway.

Seeing her enter, his eyes immediately brightened. "Sister."

Yunyi approached him with a smile and handed him the little horse. "This little horse is for you."

The reason she gave him the wood carving was to offer him strength and comfort, but she didn’t mention that the police would take him away the next day.

A flash of surprise crossed Guo Anyi’s eyes, but he quickly composed himself. He took the small horse, examined it carefully, and then hugged it to his chest. "Thank you, Sister."

Although Yunyi said nothing, having experienced so much at home, the child had matured early and understood everything. His aunt hadn’t come for him, and an officer in uniform had been constantly by his side. He knew in his heart that he was likely about to leave.

Yunyi pulled over a stool. "It’s getting late. Go to sleep. You have the little horse to keep you company. Be a brave child from now on."

Guo Anyi hugged the little horse to his chest and obediently closed his eyes. "Okay."

Yunyi tucked him in and gently patted him. After all, he was still a child and soon grew drowsy, murmuring softly, "Don’t leave."

Yunyi whispered back to him, "Okay, I won’t leave. I’ll wait until you’ve fallen asleep before I go." It wasn’t long before the little guy’s breathing evened out.

Yunyi tucked the blanket around him properly, got up, and moved to the door. She knew she shouldn’t ask, but she still did, "Does he have to leave?"

The policeman glanced inside the room. "It’s an order from above." In truth, he wasn’t very clear about the specifics himself, only that the child could no longer stay here.

Yunyi woke up early, entered the space to chop filling, and kneaded the dough that had risen overnight on a board. She made steamed buns, and with the remaining dough, she also made a few flower rolls and sugar triangles.

After breakfast, she packed all the steamed buns, flower rolls, and sugar triangles into a cloth bag and carried it to the infirmary out front.

As she arrived, a jeep was parked not far from the infirmary.

The moment she appeared, Guo Anyi rushed over. "Sister, I’m leaving."

Yunyi handed the bag to the approaching policeman and then crouched down to straighten Guo Anyi’s collar. "The cloth bag contains the steamed buns, flower rolls, and sugar triangles I made. Take them with you to eat on the road."

Guo Anyi’s eyes immediately reddened; he realized Sister knew he was leaving today. "Thank you."

Thinking of the little horse she had given him last night, he understood instantly. He looked up firmly and said, "When I grow up, I will come to see you." This text is hosted at novel·fire·net

Perhaps it was the warmth of her insistence on treating his wounds first when he was injured that day, or perhaps it was the comfort of her embrace when he was scared by the sounds of fighting outside that night; to him, Yunyi was a presence unlike any other.

Yunyi didn’t respond directly, instead smiling and saying, "If fate allows it, we will surely meet again."

Guo Anyi was led onto the jeep. The policeman who had been caring for him looked at Yunyi. "The car arrived early this morning, but he insisted on waiting for you before he would leave."

Yunyi looked at Guo Anyi, who was now sitting in the car. "He’s very sensible."

The policeman nodded and walked towards the jeep.

Watching the car disappear from sight, Yunyi finally withdrew her gaze.
