Yunyi nodded with a smile. "Yes, we shot a few scenes this afternoon, and the director thinks it’s quite alright."
If Gui Kairong were there, he surely would have said, not just quite alright, but exceedingly so.
Ye Wenhui spoke somewhat coquettishly, "I’ve yet to become an extra, and you’re already the female lead. I’m so envious."
Yunyi looked at her. "Didn’t they post a notice this morning for casting temporary extras? Did you sign up?"
Ye Wenhui sounded regretful. "They only needed fifty people. I was a bit late, and it was already over."
Yunyi urged them, "Quick, brush the snow off your clothes so your cotton jackets don’t get wet."
All of them were somewhat excited. Wei Zijia looked envious. "Yunyi, what does it feel like to act?"
Yunyi thought for a moment. "It’s a mix of hardship and joy. If you don’t put your heart into acting, it might be even more bitter."
Wei Zijia obviously didn’t understand. "Ah, what do you mean by that?"
Yunyi started laughing. "Think about standing in a snowfield with snow flying all around. It’s incredibly cold, but you want to do well in your role, so you naturally put your heart into it. Despite the hardship, you’re willing to endure it, and that brings inner joy.
"But if you’re not invested and your emotions aren’t there, you’ll likely not pass the scene and will have to reshoot. That means more time freezing out there—and that’s even harder."
After hearing Yunyi’s explanation, Wei Zijia nodded. "That really does make sense."
At this point, Ye Wenhui inquired, "Yunyi, can we come to watch you guys film tomorrow?"
