Shi Jingfang smiled and took her hand. "I called Wenhui a few days ago, and she said you were in the Northwest filming a movie. I happened to be here on a business trip these past few days, so I asked around for your location."
Yunyi smiled and linked her arm with Shi Jingfang’s. "Thank you, Auntie Jingfang. It must have been a lot of trouble for you, coming all this way to see me."
Shi Jingfang wasn’t sure how to bring it up, so she asked quietly, "Do you have a place to shower here? I’ve been so busy these past few days that I’m starting to smell."
Yunyi nodded. "Where we’re staying, there’s a temporary shower."
Shi Jingfang thought for a moment. "Are you busy today? Do you have time?"
Yunyi considered. "I have one more scene to shoot; after that, I’m free for today."
Shi Jingfang, who had never seen a film shoot, asked, "Can I come and watch?"
Yunyi laughed. "Of course, you can."
She spoke with the gatekeeper and then led Shi Jingfang inside. She had originally intended to take her to the waiting area, but just then the director yelled, "CUT!"
The director yelled "CUT!", then stood up. Turning, he saw Shi Jingfang walking in with Yunyi. After a moment of surprise, he approached them. "Are you Shi Jingfang?"
Shi Jingfang was also startled. "And you are?"
Gui Kairong said with a smile, "I’m Kairong, Gui Kairong, Gui Kailan’s brother."
When Shi Jingfang heard the name Gui Kailan, a flicker of joy crossed her eyes. "You’re Kailan’s brother?"
Gui Kairong nodded with a smile. "Yes. Gosh, it’s been so many years."
Shi Jingfang immediately asked, "How is your sister? Where is she now?"
At that question, Gui Kairong’s smile faded, and he sighed. "She’s not doing too well."
He pointed to his head. "There have been some issues here... she’s been recuperating ever since."
He simply couldn’t bring himself to say she was in a mental institution; it was a source of pain for their entire family.
Shi Jingfang couldn’t have imagined that the warm-hearted, kind, and multi-talented person she knew would be in such a state. "We haven’t seen each other in years. Could you give me her address? I’d like to visit her."
Gui Kairong hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. Perhaps seeing an old friend will make her happy."
Remembering the real reason for her visit, Shi Jingfang said, "I was thinking of taking Yunyi out for a bit later. I’ll bring her back afterward. Is that okay with you?"
