Xin Yan looked at him and she smiled, showcasing a set of pearly white teeth.
"Do you really want to help?" She asked while she continued smiling at him.
"Of course, if you will allow me help, I will help to the best of my capabilities," he gave her his word and she nodded. She knew he would always come through for her.
"I actually need your help," she fiddled with her fingers as she looked at him.
*Xin’s Residence*
Presently, the elderly members of both families were present in the old residence, that is; Grandpa Xin, Grandma Xin, and Grandpa Li. They were listening to the story and as Xin Yan recounted, the elders of the families felt their hearts clenched.
Once she was done, they looked towards the kids and their tears fell before they could even realize it.
"Meimei, grandma needs to apologize to you, she has wronged you and she needs your forgiveness," Grandma Xin tried to kneel but Meimei was quick to stop her.
"Grandma, don’t," she stopped her, while she shook her head.
"You were only concerned about your family and it is understandable," Meimei said and more tears from her eyes.
"It is our family, I am sorry my child, I was reckless in my decisions and I know it hurt you," Grandma Xin still felt bad and she felt that she needed to make up for it.
"It is okay, the little girl said she does not mind your previous attitude towards her, you should not push the matter anymore," Grandpa Xin interrupted her.
He did not want her to blame herself, and besides, the little girl had already said everything was fine.
"I had no idea that you both actually had a past, moreso, a romantic past," Grandpa Li stared at them with an amused look.
Xin Yan’s face quickly flushed as she lowered her head, she was shy and embarrassed.
"All is well that ends well, at least your kids are with you now, let’s show gratitude," Grandpa Li sighed as he looked at his great-grandchildren, he never would have expected that he will get to have grandkids at this age.
"What is your next course of action?" Grandpa Li asked and Xin Yan gave a secretive smile.
Seeing the smile on her face, Grandma Xin let out a chuckle. She perfectly understood what her granddaughter was planning, after all she was the one who trained her.
In the actual sense, Xin Yan never informed them of her death and rebirth. She did not know if she was going to do so, but she decided that she would tell them in the future.
"I know what you are planning to do, dear granddaughter, just don’t cause trouble," Grandma Xin laughed at her and Xin Yan returned the smile, causing the males and the little kids to feel confused as they did not understand the two ladies.
*A month later*
It has been a month since they all found out the truth. Xin Yan had been making preparations to take over Jiang Zhengzhou’s company.
Today was the day she took over it. She had already planned this day. Presently, she was seated in front of her mirror, as she put on her earrings.
Li Qiang suddenly walked into the room and he sighed seeing her silent look.
"Are you okay?" His voice jolted her out of her thoughts and she raised her head to look up at him.
"Yes, I am," Xin Yan answered and sighed before she quickly put on the earrings.
"You will do well, I am sure of that," He patted and assured her, before she nodded.
"I am actually scared," she finally aired her concern and he chuckled.
"I know you will be scared, but that is why I am here, I will be with you all step of the way," he said to her and she nodded.
She was glad to have him with her.
"I know you will be with me, just take care of me if I do make a mistake," Xin Yan beamed at him and he chuckled. He did not know that his wife did have an attitude of sucking up to others.
"You are Xin Yan, I know you will not make a mistake, but if you do make some mistake, I will be there to correct and help you go back to the right track," Li Qiang laughed and she chuckled, they understood each other without saying anything.
Li Chuxi and Li Meimei had decided to spend the week at their grandparents’ place, so it was easy for the couple to do what they wanted to do.
"Do you think Jiang Zhengzhou is aware of our plans?" Xin Yan asked as they walked down the stairs, hand-in-hand.
"He is, I have news for you actually," Li Qiang informed her and she perked her ears up, eager to listen to what he wanted to say.
"I will tell you once we are in the car," he said and she pouted her lips, she was eager to listen but now she had to be put into suspense.
Once they were in the car, Xin Yan immediately turned to look at him, her eyes shining with delight. Li Qiang could only sigh.
"Put on your seatbelt first," he said and she obediently nodded, and put it on immediately.
"What do you want to tell me?" She asked as he ignited the car.
"It is about Yuan Renshu and Jiang Lanfen," he said and she frowned.
"What is it about?" She asked, her brows furrowed with curiosity.
"They are about to file for a divorce," he casually spoke and she turned to look at him with wide eyes.
"What do you mean by that? Divorce?" She questioned and she thought about the reasons for the unexpected action.
"Yuan Renshu was the one who filed for it, he is cheating on her," he continued with the shocking news.
"Cheating on her? Wow, that is quite the shocker, is Jiang Lanfen aware that he is cheating on her?" She asked.
"She is, but is not willing to accept the divorce," Li Qiang continued and she chuckled.
"Jiang Lanfen has always been a proud person, I am not surprised that she is not willing to accept the divorce," she laughed.
"What are your thoughts on it?" Li Qiang asked as he looked at the lady who had a bright smile on her face.
"Jiang Lanfen is stubborn but Yuan Renshu is twice as stubborn, the divorce will happen and I will laugh at the sidelines," Xin Yan was delighted.
"Are you that happy about their breakup?" Li Qiang asked with a sour voice.
Xin Yan immediately noticed and she turned to look at him, she could sense the jealousy in his tone.
"I am happy, but you have to understand that this is what we call retribution," Xin Yan tried to pacify him.
"Besides, I understand that you are jealous, you do not need to be jealous, I have two kids for you, do you think I will look at another man?" Xin Yan asked with a twinkle in her eyes.
"You are just the mother of my kids and also my wife, but I do not know if you love me," he grumbled and she laughed out loud.
"Do not tell me you are laughing at me," he glared at her and she laughed more.
"You cannot blame me, your words are just too funny and I could not help but laugh," Xin Yan continued laughing, while Li Qiang continued glaring at her.
"Seriously, your words are really funny, am I not your wife? Aren’t I the mother of your kids? Your words are extremely funny to the ears," she laughed, her hands on her mouth as she tried to control it but to no avail.
"But you do not love me," he whined childishly.
"And who told you I do not love you?" She retorted almost immediately.
Li Qiang suddenly stepped on the brakes, the car stopping immediately.
"What did you just say?" Li Qiang asked as he stared at her, his hands which were holding the steering wheel of the car were shivering as he looked at her.
"I said who told you I did not love you?" Xin Yan replied, but this time around, she was shy as she had previously blurted out the earlier words.
But now, she had selfawareness and she felt embarrassed as she confessed her true feelings.
"Does that mean you have feelings for me?" Li Qiang asked, he knew the answer, but he needed that bit of confirmation from her.
"Yes, I have feelings for you, I had feelings for you during that year and I still have feelings for you now," Xin Yan finally confessed.
"Yes!" Li Qiang exclaimed excitedly.
Xin Yan looked at him, and she chuckled. She could feel his excitement and she also felt the same way. She felt relieved after she had confessed her feelings.
"I wanted to confess later on, with a bigger scenario but you spoiled it," Xin Yan complained with pouted lips.
